Your asset streaming system is BROKEN
No, patch 3.22.2 did NOT fix this.
Here is a 100% reproducible frametime spike (massive stutter) 1) Open a new map 2) Enter that map 3) Kill the first pack of monsters 4) Now open the inventory and be greeted by a massive frametime spike There is NO REASON why you should EVER unload inventory assets. NONE. Your garbage collector is waaaay too aggressive with removing textures out of the memory. UI elements should NEVER be streamed out. I'm soooo tired of these frametime spikes when doing the most basic things, like opening any UI overlay, which makes me suffer this massive stutter. Please fix this. This has been an issue for way too long... Last edited by Lextra#0061 on Oct 24, 2023, 10:53:26 PM Last bumped on Nov 1, 2023, 3:17:45 PM

+1, the patch before ExileCon really fucked things up.

Kind of +1.
Edit: Enter same map as x times before. Doing same stuf. Shader is overloaded. Why dont you fix it? No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle! Last edited by Zrevnur#2026 on Oct 25, 2023, 5:28:18 PM

Usually this is the problem of player's out of date hardware
Like it or not, GGG is using POE 2 game code on the current POE 1 game. I have 4060 so that no problem. This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. About the username: Did you know Kowloon Gundam is made in Neo Hong Kong?

"My hardware is (I think) ~2 years old. And the variation of the problem is new. And IIRC they gave a reason for doing the way they are doing it now. Something about loading times or some such. But its so that some systems have loads of RAM (like mine) so loading times would be zero issue if they would just use that RAM. So basically from my POV the new code is inflexible targeting some weird standardized system. And wont work well on many other kinds of systems. They could make it so that aspects can be parametrized. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

" My hardware is GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT CPU: AMD Ryzen R9 3900X RAM: 2x16GB 3600CL14 DDR4 SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB M.2 Display: Samsung Q73A 3840x2160 120Hz My issue is not performance during combat, which is excellent (constant 70fps or higher even with many many monsters on the screen) My issues are frametime spikes (stutters) which are 100% reproducible. This is NOT a hardware issue. ANY other game runs within the performance I can find from other people online with the same hardware. This is 1000% an issue with Path of Exile. I can reproduce the same exact stutter 100% of the time using my process listed above. This issue NOT about internet server latency or shader compilation. (Note: I'm usually the person that helps others fix their hardware/software problems, I don't wanna sound arrogant, but I have years of experience in this field) Here is everything I've tried so far: Disabled XMP in BIOS Ran 10 hours of "TM5" "anta" preset (ram stresstest) with XMP enabled (Passed with no errors) Ran 10 hours of "ramtest" from "karhusoftware" (Passed with no errors) Set CPU clock frequency to 4GHz fixed (no boost) in bios Disabled CPU SMT in bios Disabled SAM in bios Disable CPU C6 states in bios Tried windows page file set to "No paging file" Tried a manual set windows page file size of 20GB Tried many different AMD GPU drivers, including windows OEM gpu drivers Tried underclocking maximum GPU Frequency by 500MHz Tried an increased minimum GPU Frequency clock Tried different windows power plans High performance / Ultimate performance / AMD Ryzen High performance Tried windows game mode on/off Tried disabling many USB devices in windows device manager Tried disabling AMD Radeon sound devices in windows device manager Check CrystalDiskMark performance (benchmark for SSDs) Performance was within hardware specification (excellent) Check CrystalDiskInfo for potential SSD errors. Health was 95% and no errors Check LatencyMon for potential latency spikes. 350ms was the highest recorded after 30 minutes of gameplay, which is excellent performance. Tried FreeStandbyMemory.bat by AveYo Tried Process Lasso (set cpu affinity to the first 6 real cores, set cpu priority to above normal/high) Tried no background apps running (no discord, no browser, no steam, literally only microsoft services and no third party software except for PoE running) Tried enable/disable dynamic resolution/culling in PoE graphic settings Tried enable/disable multithreding in PoE graphic settings Tried DX11, DX12 and Vulkan API in PoE graphic settings Tried multiple fresh windows OS installations (newest W10 pro + all updates, W10 IoT Enterprise LTSC, W11 pro + all updates) Ran 3DMark TimeSpy performance benchmark, (~23000 graphic score) performance was excellent just as other people with the same hardware Ran 3DMark TimeSpy 20 minutes GPU stresstest. Passed. No errors. Ran Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark 5 times, no frametime spikes/stuttering, 107 average fps at native 4k with all settings highest. performance is just as what others get with the same hardware And some more things which I forgot. |

have you tried deleted shadercache by running poe's packcheck.exe? (sorry only work for standalone client)

Step 1 - Grab Last Epoch.
Step 2 - Install Last Epoch Mod. Step 3 - Change mob density to 10x/20x/100x Step 4 - Enjoy the smooth as a baby's ass gameplay while slaughtering hordes of mobs. Pff, who even plays Standard?

tpm off = no problems other than my GTX970 really sweating on blights(still manages to keep the fps 35+ on 1080p)
