"Functionally "punishing failure" and "rewarding success" are the same - assuming the base cost is adjusted accordingly. So the point of punishing is (if you want to look at it this way) to reward you for completing the mission. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

The only way I could see the current Kirac punishing you make sense is if there were ranks and the higher your rank(which increases by completing missions) the more likely you would get better map missions.
Better maps missions would be the rare ones like monstrous treasure appearing more, breach stones, ETC. You fail a mission, you go down in ranks and stuff like, find the unique item for a mission would be more likely. |
