I propose that there be a change to the system. Any of the other 3 boss pinnacles (Maven, Searing Exarch, Eater of Worlds) have enough determinism that eventually you will reach that content automatically. Special Maven invitations can give high numbers of splinters. Searing exarch/eater of world have 28 maps.
Uber Elder though has 2 levels of rng. First you need to get shaper/elder guardian maps. It's not that bad to get, but after getting those you need to fight the shaper/elder and get the exact fragments you need. This is the part that doesn't really make sense to me. Shaper = 4 maps Elder = 4 Maps. Just running an invitation of the twisted and the formed from these 2 sets could easily get you a Maven's writ. Meanwhile for Uber Elder, the actual content you need to run 16 maps and even then if you drop the same fragment as before, you have to repeat. What I would propose is changing the design in the following way: 1) No more Shaper/Elder Fragments, there will be a writ instead for the uber elder that will be composed of 8 splinters 2) The guardians will drop 1 splinter each in addition to their base fragment 3) The Elder/Shaper will respectively drop 4 splinters I'm open to other ideas too, but this was the simplest one that came to mind. No need for all that. Just add a harvest craft to flip those fragments. Every other fragment thing (even Sirus's) has a fragment flip except for that one.

If you are in SSF, a full set of frag actually need an expected value of 8.333 Guardian Map. (assuming each map has a equal chance to drop, and one map drop one frag; does not use invitation )

I mentioned this as a problem when I came during lake after a two league break.
It is a main story boss, intended or otherwise because he drops the last atlas stone. That was my original issue with the obnoxious grind and still is. It's always the last stone I get and I go directly to the top of the atlas passive tree first so bosses will drop Shaper/Elder maps. Easiest fix would be to just change Shaper/Elder scarabs IMO. Before Winged they're at the bottom with Sulphite and Torment. For conditionally the best Boots/Shield influence doesn't seem right. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" Lol...come on dude. Of COURSE he is. He has his own wheel on the atlas tree and everything. ALL the atlas bosses are MAIN story bosses. Things like delve boss, expedition boss, etc. are non-main bosses. Any expansion boss is a Main Boss Just because he isn't THE main boss, doesn't mean he is any less of A main boss. Similar to how Kitava is STILL the main boss of the story. Really petty try at creating an argument. " That is my point exactly lol, it is part of the voidstone. But look at the larger picture: even Sirus only requires 4 maps to run. Searing Exarch/Eater of Worlds have more because they run off any map. and even have passives on the atlas tree to reduce required maps. At this point shaper and elder content should just be considered merged. |
