The "punch" behind the skills - Sound effects

As it is being discussed in this topic - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/24033 - I feel most spells don't have enough "power", they don't look and sound powerful.

I know it is extremely hard to achieve this kind of effects but I think skills need more bass, in that topic there's some examples of that kind of sounds and other games like Torchlight 2 have amazing sound design on the skills, I have no idea how it is done, it probably involves a lot of sound design but it's surely something I've noticed when I was playing Torchlight 2 and Path of Exile at the same time.

Sorry if I'm being too vague but this "punch" is very hard to explain, it's something that is there or isn't there and it's really hard to explain what it is.
One skill that seems to achieve this effect nicely is Heavy Strike, it has the right amount of everything: sound effects, screen shake, animations and visual effects.

Also just noticed the criticals were updated, now they have a really nice effect, that's the kind of effects I was talking about, great job!

Yes! completely understand what you mean, I think you will find its just going to take time before players really start to feel what your talking about.I'm constantly updating sounds with ones with more energy.

But as discussed on the other thread, its a combination of a few things that give an action that power and its all content that needs to be created!

The audio guy.
