if i run this, will i get the essence challenge completed? playing the game normally only gave me 3 so far so i'm a little skeptical that this would give me 72. before i pay over a divine i wanted to ask, maybe someone knows

No idea about that... but you should definetely buy remnants of corruption and use them.
You might also want to specc your atlas tree accordingly, which really maximises the essence output. |

You are unlikely to get that many from one memory. But if you full spec Essence and drop Remnants of Corruption on essences you run into, you will get the 75 in no time just from mapping.
Crystal Prison does help with the bottom essence challenge (8-essence mob in a T16). |

i didnt want to full spec into essence...i thought this could be a more expensive but faster way to do it. i'll probably try it then spec into essences to get the remaining.

so i bought one for 1.3 divs and ran it. it gave me 25/75. so not worth it at all. what a waste. i swear some of these challenges are designed just to frustrate people as much as possible.

Sorry to hear that. Did you get the 8-essence one ticked off at least?
You could just buy the corruption remnants if you don't want to collect them yourself. If you spec into essences with Crystal resonance (and Amplified Energies), you have a pretty decent chance to turn shrieking into deafening. And with a shrieking left, you'll get two deafenings per piece, so to speak. It won't upgrade every time ofc, but do that on a 2c essences map crafting option, and it should be allright I think. I'm doing it myself, but have specced into essences from the beginning (except the off into the corner-ish +3 essence chance, too far away for me). |

" yeah i specced into essence now and trying this way...i just know it will take a really long time and i had to spec out of delirium to make room for the points.
