Combined Amulet Quest

Game is going great up until this point when all of a sudden there is no information on what to do with the combined amulet.

This should never happen, maybe I am just blind but its obviously not easy info to find.

GM mutes me for asking, would be nice if the GM that muted me also answered the question I was "spamming."

Go to the pyramid and climb the stairs, you can use the amulet there. You can get there via Waterfall Cave.
Wow thank you are more helpful than the GMs in this game!

...Try not spamming it next time.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I don't know what was spammed, but I'd have expected them to figure out at least why this person didn't know where to go next. .. it's indicative of a problem with the quest notification.

The problem is that the quest isn't finished yet. Act II is not done, and there are certain parts tied together that are temporary.
Actually, Zeto, I think it's sort of a throwback to what PoE was like a patch or two ago, when you had to explore all over the place rather than be guided by quests. This was rectified slightly in act 1 but act 2 still needs more. I expect that as act 3 approaches, there'll be more retroactive changes to the quest line to make things more obvious.

And although I didn't see it happen (I have EvilMoogle on ignore), I presume the query of what to do with the combined amulet was spammed to a point where a GGG staffer felt it necessary to step in.

People get answers pretty quickly in the GC from what I've seen, so it's not as if anyone should be casting aspersions on the devs in this way.

Then again, when I unignored Moogle in a fit of troubling optimism, he or she just complained to me about how the devs never listen and never make changes based on feedback. My attempts to patiently show why this isn't true was interrupted by one line from Samantha to the contrary, at which point EvilMoogle apparently ran away to hide 'before getting muted again.'

...in short, the experiences of this individual should not in any way colour anyone else's expectations from the devs.

Not going to make generalizations, but every case where a user is unsure what is going on is a possible lesson.

There are extenuating circumstances of course because portions of the game are not fleshed out.

Absolutely. At first I was was happy to find a game where 'explore!' was the solution to any uncertainties, but with each open weekend, it became obvious that this level of expectation is unfair towards the majority of players.

Like I said, I think the advent of act 3 will significantly change the quest flow and their importance as 'signposts' for your next destination. :)

PoE is not an open world game like Skyrim where you can go anywhere and do anything. That's not to say that exploration of individual areas shouldn't be encouraged/rewarded. The quest line is there to provide guidance to players in terms of motivation, backstory, and direction. If at any point a player is attempting to follow a quest and fails to grasp how or why he should follow that quest then that's a simple failure of the quest system. Still, I don't consider any of the quests finalized in any way. Certainly not while the large majority present the player with vague, uninteresting, and/or dubious motivation for why this or that needs to die.
