stormshroud + tempest shield
I became extremely frustrated while playing as the fr character in Coc. I was using Tempest Shield and Stormshroud, but I kept dying due to the ignite effect. It's important to note that Tempest Shield grants shock immunity, which means I shouldn't have been susceptible to this effect, yet it was still happening.
I was puzzled because even with Stormshroud active, which should provide immunity to everything, I couldn't avoid ignite. I began to suspect that the issue might be a curse. I invested in 130% reduced curse effects in an attempt to resolve the problem, but I was still suffering from ignite and even freeze. Last bumped on Sep 17, 2023, 8:37:04 AM

Effects that grant immunity to ailments no longer do so by providing 100% chance to avoid the ailment.
Tempest Shield's "Immunity to Shock" does not combine with Stormshroud to give you 100% chance to avoid other elemental ailments. |

" Unfortunately, it's very specific. In that the mod has to explicitly be "Chance to Avoid being Shocked". This means "Immunity to Shock" or "Reduced Duration of Shock" (even if %100) does not do anything to interact with the Stormshroud jewel. In the interest of seeking out ailment immunity you may consider the Firesong jewel. However, it's important to know Firesong is significantly worse for builds trying to reach immunity (there may be builds that want to be self-inflicted with ailments, I guess). Only mods that meet "Modifiers to Ignite Duration on you" will apply. Special note with Firesong, as of last league GGG changed ailment mechanics such that if an ailment (other than freeze) has a duration under the server tick rate (0.33s) they are no longer discarded on mobs and players. This means it is now more difficult to be defensive to ailments with just Firesong's interaction. Mobs will often have increased duration which often negates Firesong's reduction. Many elemental ailments do not have a duration (especially ground effects) so Firesong is (still) useless for those. Also because of the low-duration discard change from last league combined with the increased duration mod that monsters can have, you are more likely to get ailments applied even with slightly over 100% ailment duration reduction. So tl;dr: If going for immunity, Firesong is probably not what you want. Yet another unpaid Path of Exile 2 Alpha Tester. Last edited by TwentyFiveEX#7096 on Sep 17, 2023, 8:37:59 AM
