Halls of the grandmaster is a tier 6 map, wtf.

Maybe you'd be better off going back to D3/D4. If you need handholding and the game telling you what you should/shouldn't do then POE is the worst game available for you.
The devs want players to to figure stuff out by themselves, even if it's the hard way, probably even more so if it's the hard way. They think it's more engaging that way.
You can disagree with that, so do i to an degree, but this lack of signposting everywhere is not an oversight, it's by design. Same as shitty item pickup and shitty trade and horrible boss fight visibility. None of it is going to change.

They just need to be clear to the player.

Just print an T16 on it and good at least they say is supposed to be hard, T6 on a map where players with gear worthy more than 10 mirrors at tier 6 is crazy

Also, i agree that some bosses have some of the worst fights visibility i'ver seen, Elder skills have the worst visibility sometimes i don't even know what he is doing exactly

Hope they learn from the mistakes to not try to make it on POE2.

No money until, GGG fix melee.
HoGM is a silly map that I never run. They should take the xp penalty out of it like ToTA.
Don't make it a tier 16 map, it would still be seen as a map and the difficulty is expected to match a tier 16 map.

Instead: make it something like an invitation so you know this is supposed to be some specific peak endgame thing.

I got a better idea: Make the Halls of the Grandmaster a vendor recipe, so you have to willfully obtain it.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.
Lots of people in this thread are being needlessly condescending.

First of all, the fact that HoGM says "PVP Scaling" or that it doesn't appear on the atlas is completely and utterly meaningless to anyone that HASN'T EVER run the map before...there is nothing in the game that tells you what PVP scaling means, there is no indicator that it is not an atlas map (obviously) until you complete the atlas, and then the Tier of the map doesn't give an accurate indicator of what you are in for. How in the world can ANY player without prior knowledge make an educated decision on whether or not its appropriate to run?

In every way, this map fails to adequately prepare a new HoGM player. It is, at best, misleading and, at worst, just straight up punishment.

All these players saying "it couldn't be more clear that it's impossible/hard!" are speaking because they have already learned to ignore it. But if you actually THINK about the map, from a newer player perspective, there is NOTHING in the game that actually tells you any of this.

Frankly, the map should have been removed a LONG time ago when they learned that PVP isn't a thing...it was only released because they wanted to promote PVP in the first place. But the map itself highlighted WHY PVP isn't a thing in PoE lol.

It shouldn't drop, it shouldn't even be assigned a tier. And it should at least explicitly explain on the map what "PVP scaling" even means.

Pretty much this. Not everyone here is a forum regular who's played for at least a year at minimum. Sometimes, when the stars align, a new player may actually visit the forum and talk about a problem they stumbled upon.

Unfortunately, GGG will never remove that map. Several players, including myself, paid for a supporter pack that let us create and submit builds to be used in it. Rest assured I blew my submission when I got it by submitting an incomplete character that was meant for PvE. However, players who were serious in screwing you over took lots of time and effort cooking up the most aggravating builds meant to destroy you as quickly as possible.

That being said, yeah, it shouldn't drop. I think it should be obtained by a vendor recipe. This way, new players don't stumble into this thinking it's something they should be able to breeze through, and those who want to run it will have to obtain it willfully through the vendor system.

Even better: a vendor recipe for an invitation. ;)
