Support Gem ideas!!

Hey its me again, time to try and throw some more ideas out here, please give your opinions and enjoy.

Afterimage support: Green Dex gem

Supports melee strike skills, when you use a strike skill create a stationary afterimage of yourself. This afterimage will attack nearby enemies using your strike skill. It will only deal up 30% of the skill's total damage but will gain ramping bonus in that every attack it makes will let it deal additional physical damage per attack based on gem level, leech applied by the afterimage will apply to you and much like Vaal double strike will scale on your modifiers. You can have up to 2 afterimages at a time.

The purpose behind this support gem is to give melee attack speed oriented strike skills additional ways to wave clear and deal damage, such as frost blades, lightning strike, double strike, frenzy and so on.

Velocity support: Green Dex gem

Caps attack speed at 2.0 (Or two attacks per second) but in exchange boosts damage of supported skills by a base of 20% and by all overcapped attack speed.

Allows you to scale the damage of skills that grant you an excess of attack speed that don't have high base damage multipliers.


Delayed Volley support: Green Dex gem

Supports skills with a rain effect, like toxic rain, rain of arrows, etc. When you use supported skills instead of them landing immediately create a sigil on the ground where they will land and then detonate the skill by using a manual trigger (Familiar to a mine). Skills will deal increased damage and land instantly upon triggering.

The Purpose behind this gem is to allow for double 6 link options on bow builds to allow you to use toxic rain or rain of arrows to apply hexes or marks on enemies so that your main skill can deal more damage


Phantasmal pact support: Blue int gem

Turns a permanent minion (Like zombies, Spectres, animate guardian, golems, etc) into a temporary minion with a set duration of 20 seconds. It grants +2 to maximum minion amount and when you use the minion skill grant a buff to yourself and all of your minions, which grants the phantasmal effect which will allow you to phase through enemies and increase your evasion rating by a certain amount. (Supported minions will also not require a corpse to be summoned, spectres will default to whatever minion is saved in your desecrate skill)

The purpose behind this gem is to switch up minion gameplay by changing passive elements into active elements in exchange for a buff familiar to an offering skill

Kaleidoscope support: Blue int gem

When supporting an elemental spell, convert 50% of its damage to an adjacent element. 50% of Fire damage is converted into cold damage, 50% of cold damage is converted into lightning damage, 50% of lightning damage is converted into fire damage. Spells supported by this skill can only inflict ailments based on its parent element. (For example fire spells can only ignite and cold spells can only chill and freeze, etc) This skill will also cause spells to deal between 10-20% more elemental damage based on level.

Allows you to gain easier access to dual scaling elemental spells without requiring an extensive process

Ravenous Support: Blue int gem

When supporting a curse gem, any curse you inflict on an enemy will inflict you with a weaker version of the curse at 50% of its values. After 2 seconds of being inflicted with the self curse you will devour it causing all enemies inflicted with the curse you ate to have it refreshed and intensified increasing its effects on them by 50%. You will also recover health and mana whenever you devour a curse.

Allows for interesting self sustain options in curse builds


Furious glare support: Red Str gem

Allows you to gain rage whenever you stun enemies. Upon reaching 30 rage you will activate furious glare which will debuff enemies causing them to take additional damage from you. Ignites you inflict on enemies during furious glare will decrease their outgoing damage to you and decrease their stun threshold.

Synergy with fire melee gems



Cry of the Ancestors support: Red Str gem

Supports your warcries allowing you to summon fiery incarnates whenever you use a warcry. Incarnates are weak minions that can perform a suicide attack dealing fire damage to nearby enemies when their health falls below a certain percentage. Incarnates can and will consume nearby corpses which will improve their stats up to a cap and increase the potency of the suicide attack. They are permanent minions but their health decays rapidly over their lifetime. Eating corpses can delay the decay effect for 4 seconds. You can have up to 4 incarnates at any given time.

Gives Marauders an interesting minion option besides totems

The Furious Glare gem seems pretty cool. Might be a nice boost for stun.
