Edit: guardian's elemental relics are considered dying on timeout, killing linked player
|
Clarification: Guardian seems to be an ascendancy that supports both minion play and link skills. However, using link skills on minions (with the respective minion mastery) becomes suicidal while elemental relics are active, as they kill you on timeout if you are linked. Other minions, e.g. SRS and dervishes, do not. Therefore I assume this is an oversight on the elemental relics and not intended.
Original post: The two Guardian passives 'Harmony of Purpose' and 'Unwavering Crusade' can not be used together. Using any kind of link skill while elemental relics are active is basically suicide, as you die when they time out. I'm not sure what the intention is, but either they should not be damageable / selectable as target, or timing out should not count as dying, similar to how it is implemented for dervishes. I just tried and I can't link to Elemental Relic.
You really just posted a bug report with "Link skills can target Guardian's elemental relics" title when you have "Link Skills can target Damageable Minions" mastery? "Links interact with relics just as with any other damageable timed minions. Link skills are designed for party play mainly, but not for every minion. The Dervish's exceptional mechanics allow links to be effective with it. There were no changes to the sword to make it deliberately good with links, this is how it worked before link skills were implemented. |

Obviously it makes no sense to have a linkable minion, that times out after three seconds and kills you. They should not be a valid target, even with the minion mastery.

PoE allows you to kill yourself in many ways, but why are you doing it?

"Probably bugs as well? Can you give an example that makes sense game-play wise? I mean, why would an ARPG need ways to commit suicide via skill usage? Enemies and environment should be enough, imho. Last edited by FearlessGuyFromTheDeep#5776 on Sep 4, 2023, 3:35:31 PM

Why? Because they want to. Part of their game philosophy is allowing players to make bad decisions.
You can give feedback that it sucks but its working as intended. |
|
" I don't think it does. Other minions that time out, e.g. srs and dervishes, are not considered dying and therefore don't kill you of linked. |

Hmm it is a bit inconsistent actually because skellies dont kill you either in addition to the others.
They are all targetable minions that expire after a duration and only the relics kill you when they expire. Not sure whats intended but maybe someone has a post somewhere with clarification. |

"I found a change in Sanctum league (3.20) that could accidentally break the behaviour but decided to test this myself first... just when 3.22.1 patch deployment started. After the patch expired SRS and Skeletons kill me as intended. Can you confirm you haven't tested this in hideout? The only related change in the patch is "Probably it undirectly fixed the behaviour. |

Do link skills behave differently in hideout? I actually tested SRS in hideout. Dervishes work fine in maps, however.
