CI Energy shield being bypassed

My CI Character is taking life damage bypassing its energy shield in simulacrums.

I can't find any information on damage that will bypass energy shield and hit life directly while using chaos inoculation which leads me to believe this is a bug.

One consistent factor has been the map mod "monsters deal % of physical damage as extra chaos damage" in simulacrums but when tested in maps with the same mod no deaths occurred.

If you are using link skills and your target dies you die as well.

this or he got 1 tapped(there is a crit mod, its possible), ES can desync on screen when your 1 tapped.
