Beating the turtle in defense mode at high level

Has anyone figured this out? I have solid DPS, but it still takes 30-40 seconds to kill it and it protects 7-8 total totems while it just sits there. I lose my base trying to kill it everytime. Would love to hear anything that I am missing. I am at rank 1500 approximately.

Your have to take out its totem asap before it casts.

And I guess if he casts immediately upon battle start, you just lose. It's tough to have no chance in certain battles, no matter how well you play. I just navigated the battle to finally kill the thing and free up the ability to kill his totem and he respawned in 2 seconds and recast immediately. Wish there was a way to defend against this.
