How am I supposed to beat the shaper with my ssf jugg?

I tried to beat the shaper with my jugg and litteraly died 6 times without taking more than a quarter of his life of first phase. Did elder twice with no issues.

Honestly I just don't understand what I can do to beat him I have 75% capped all with extra cold res, maybe I can manage to get a slightly better axe and more suppress but it won't make that big a difference.

I never fought this boss before, watched a couple youtube videos but this thing just destroys me, I feel like the attack opportunity windows are very short, with this black void that constantly follows you and the little grey voids that pops everywhere I can barely get close, also he regens his hp?? I'd take 20% of his life, die and when I come back he is nearly full.

I played PoE in 2018 in harvest and heist leagues and left the game as trade league wasn't for me and was told ssf was unplayable, came back in ssf a month ago after my D4 disappointment and gave myself the goal to get all voidstones. Was really enjoying myself so far but after getting destroyed on the shaper and maven fights I kinda lost my motivation as simply getting to fight those boss takes a lot of grind and I feel like I won't get much stronger anyway.

Shaper recovers a bit of life during his phases where you are sent off to fight your way back to him but other than that he has no recovery. Maybe you had Maven witness the fight? She can heal him.

Generally Shaper is pretty easy as melee, just go close to him so he can't use his balls. When he charges up his beam, move behind him and keep attacking. His slam you should be able to tank as a Jugg, if not just dodge that one. The volatiles that come floating in can just be lured and popped somewhere at the edge of the arena where they aren't a problem. Just make sure you don't pop any of them during his bullet hell phase within Zanas bubble.

Also make sure you don't do the level 85 version of the fight, that's the Uber version and not something you could do with your level of gear.

If you really want to progress further you should switch to trade league. Gear progression in SSF is horrible after a certain point.

Yeah I think Maven was there, I assumed that was normal, it wasn't uber shaper just the regular. His slam doesn't os me (probably takes 90% of hp though).
Also your boneshatter is 22 you're basically taking 30% MORE damage for like 2% damage gain.

Put that shit back in 20
Dys an sohm
Rohs an kyn
Sahl djahs afah
Mah morn narr
Shaper's a pushover with a ballista totem support setup (explosive arrow or whatever). Just run circles around him while dropping totems. If he does the beam stand behind him and drop more totems. That's pretty much it.

He slowly heals in between phases even without Maven though, so if you take too long getting back to the portal he might be back to full health.
His attacks are all very predictable if you've done the fight a few times.
Lead the black bubbles to the edge of the arena before running over them so you don't get death circles everywhere, especially in the spot where Zana creates the bubble. This is also easy with a totem setup since you can just run around freely while they do the work.

On the whole, it's very much one of the easier battles in poe end game.
If you can do Sirus this should be a cakewalk for you after a few tries.

The end is nigh

for more dps: scale impale and crit. replace vuln with assassin mark + mark on hit. get dismembering, disemboweling and possibly anoint feller of foes.(some of your axe and two hand cluster are very weak... you can replace amulet too) you have t1 crit chance on your axe and youre still using precise technique...

other than that you probably need to learn the boss mechanic better.

I haven't seen a single BS build made around critical hit on poe ninja, so I just assumed it wasn't worth anything, can it actually deal critical damage with the stacks?
