POE 2, Ascendancy concepts
So with POE2 only about a year away, I thought to maybe try and create some concepts for ascendancies that characters can have in the game. I want you guys to read some of these concepts and tell me if you like or don't like them. Anyway lets get too it.
Templar Ascendancy: Paladin Focus: Consecrated ground, defence, holy spells. The fantasy I want to achieve with this ascendancy is taking some of the melee focus of the inquisitor, some of the defence of the guardian and some of the unique ways to scale elemental damage from the Hierophant and grant them some synergy between each other. Here are some keystones that could be featured in the ascendancy. Divine Sanctum: Consecrated ground you create has 20% increase aoe, enemies that are on consecrated ground get pulled towards its centre every 1.5 seconds and have their elemental resistances reduced. Impenetrable shield: When you successfully block you shield yourself with an effect that prevents damage for 0.5 seconds and grants you temporary bonus energy shield and health for every nearby enemy for 6 seconds. This effect has a 10 second cooldown. Holy Smite: When hitting an enemy with a skill that deals both physical damage and elemental damage you smite them, preventing your skills from missing the target, causing them to deal more physical and elemental damage to them. And makes it so that your physical damage can chill, ignite and shock. Witch Ascendancy: Ritualist Focus: Physical damage spells, sacrifice skills, health reservation The fantasy of this class is similar to a Vaal High priest who commits sacrifices to achieve boons for themselves. Focussing on physical spells like blade vortex and Exsanguinate the class allows for some interesting combinations, and can even scale with bleed and corrupting blood. Calming of the storm: Deal 50% reduced elemental damage, all elemental damage modifiers apply to physical damage at 30% of their value. All elemental damage has a chance to inflict bleed. Sacrifice of virtue: Turns the damaging spells you cast into sacrifice spells. They will not cost mana to cast but will either consume a nearby corpse or minion, or your own health. Each sacrifice spell you cast will grant you a sacrifice stack which increases your outgoing physical spell damage and physical damage over time. You may then consume your sacrifice stacks to cast one of three rituals granted to you when you take this keystone. Ritual of plenty, restores your health, energy shield and flask charges based on the number of stacks, ritual of savagery inflicts corrupting blood and bleed on nearby enemies based on the number of stacks, ritual of repulse will damage nearby enemies with physical damage and push them away based on the number of stacks. Hell of Razors: Increases the damage of physical spells and causes hits from them to drop blades on the ground. These blades are the same as the ones created by etherial knives and blade rain and can be detonated by blade blast. Druid Ascendancy: Moon Prophet Focus: Energy shield, Spellcasting, energy magic The fantasy of this class is to sort of replicate the Druids from Wow or Dungeon's and Dragons that have a connection to the moon itself. Allowing for spells that utilize energy shield in unique ways. Owl Form: Grants the ability to change into a great owl. The owl is a spellcasting shapeshifter form rather than a melee form, that has greater speed and movement than the human form but sacrifices some of its durability. The owl form is unique in that not only will you move and cast spells faster but your hp hits 0 you will just revert to your human form with 30% of your max hp and be unable to transform into the owl for 5 seconds. The Owl form has 10% increased energy shield but 20% decreased life, 30% decreased armour and 10% increased evasion. Mooncasting: Your spells consume 10% energy shield before mana. Leech energy shield from the damage you deal. Spells infuse enemies with energy in human form, when hitting enemies with spells in Owl form consume the energy to create lunar beams that strike enemies dealing damage to them based on your current energy shield. Moonglow: Shapeshifting grants the moonglow effect for 3 seconds blinding nearby enemies. Blinded enemies take additional damage from spells and are more susceptible to other ailments. Anyway thank you for reading my paragraphs of concepts, I could type more but fingers are tired. Have a nice day folks!! Last bumped on Aug 27, 2023, 10:31:02 AM
