Trial of the Ancestors Ranking

I had gotten ancestor rank 2000 well before the current rank 1, and it now shows me as rank 2 on the ladder sorted by ancestor rank. Is the ranking not sorted by first reached date?

It looks like I'm back to rank 1 again. Talking to rank 2, looks like it updates after completion even when at cap. So if you complete a tournament at 2,000 ranking, it'll update to the latest completion time and treat is as though you got there later
