I have the same issue, completely specced into abyss and with abyss scarabs in over 30 maps but I don't see any abyss.

" GGG doesn t care about a single content issue on a single map at all ,you should konw that dude.And they are busy working on POE2,totally got no time,last 2 patchs cause POE1 much more laggy to play especially when maps got delirium,but they just ignored and announced that these updates would make game better. Sad, I miss the old GG. I was so excited for Abyss and its literally unplayable for days now.
