How is this league worse then Kalandra?

Very disappointing for PoE fans. After all these years, the only direction this game is going is down. What a shame….and all for poe2. Poe1 is the sacrificial lamb.

Umm…hate to break it to you, but Ancestors may end up being the best league ever.

I’ve swept all three tournaments so far until the scaling started getting a bit dodgy, going to farm up a bit more and come back.

Not fully ascended at time of writing and still on a 4-link….

Kalendra mechanic was 10000x better than this.

sry but kalandra had very low drop for super hard difficulty

already a couple interesting tatoo in there. it s worth farming.

I really liked kalandra league. Op challenge rewards and the lake had interesting rooms like ambush with currency and divination guaranteed or expedition rooms with coins guaranteed and so on. Can’t wait they implement it like sanctuarium, maybe as a map fully builded

Classic PoE community, half people of the topic hasen't even finished the campaign yet but complain about the league without any playtime at all.
Quite a no brainer that league mechanics suck during leveling while you sit on a single 2 or 3 link at best hoho

More like AN was the best part about early LoK next to the great challenge reward mtx and the somewhat smooth patch notes. At least rares tried to fight back some but now they are pretty much just white mobs with a bit more life and you can just look at your second monitor and blast red maps on league start budget and don't even give a single f about what's going on in the game cause nothing really fights back lol.

Kalandra was only particularly hard because of AN, and the rewards were good if you understood the room mechanic, but even if you didn't at least you got plenty of chests full of currency and rares to help you level and progress.

Ancestors gives you nothing if you lose. It's like here's a list of mediocre items, pick one and cross your fingers hoping it's not a 4vs10 fight that stomps you into the ground. My first reward choice was a single bad rare item, it shouldn't require that much effort and power to get one rare item right and it's not like the enemies in the league drop anything. I had no chance whatsoever of winning that fight, and this repeated again and again.

Ya, imagine tuning league content to be playable during the period of time most of the playerbase spends most of their time on. GGG released numbers at some point that the vast majority of the playerbase doesn't even do mapping. The main point of a new league to many of us is it makes playing through the campaign for the 200th time less of a slog since there is a new league mechanic to make things interesting. When a mechanic like this is more or less completely undoable during the campaign then there's just no point in playing the league. I didn't even make it to act 2, I'm not going to ignore it and hope it gets better later, I'm going to go play some other game and hope GGG fixes this mess.

The balance is bassackwards, it should be basically impossible to lose in the mechanic early on as you learn it and get the hang of things, becoming more challenging later in the game. There's a reason uber bosses are more difficult than Hillock even though you generally fight Hillock naked with a crap 2 link.

The only problem is that you don't have a button to leave the tournament once started.

And also that you get nothing if you don't win every match...

Also what the F is with the last round of the tournament, if you don't win it it doesn't matter what you did before you just lose and restart the tournament...

luckly, stuff from the mechanic can be trade.
so, i can just buy tatoos later, if i want

The mechanic is laggy. I felt like, they fixed a bit of the cursed patch. About 80%. That said, the performance is still havings issues. Had none before the cursed patch at end of crucible.

I am playing on nvidia now and have no problems what so ever. But i do agree that the loading times from switching zones is very very high.
