lab skeleton enchant and MI
Still pretty new to poe, dont know how most modifiers work.
If I have the labyrinth enchantment on a helmet: "skeletons deal 40% increased damage" does that also affect Minion Instability? Or the damage from infernal legion if linked to the skeleton gem? Thanks in advance! Last bumped on Aug 15, 2023, 1:04:08 PM

Short answer: Yes and no :)
More details: MI´s base dmg depends on the minions life, same as a weapons base dmg. Percent based "increased" minion dmg is additive dmg while "more" minion dmg is mulitplicative and affects the dmg after the base dmg has been modified by all additive "increased" dmg sources. Flat dmg sources do not affect MI. If you wanted to scale the dmg from there, you will have to look at curses like ele weakness and flammability as well as fire exposure to shred enemies fire res and deal more dmg that way. Other than that Ailments such as Scorch or Shock are the last remaining scaling options you can utilize. Thats pretty much all you can do to scale the dmg. Although MI does deal fire dmg you cannot utilize ele or fire dmg nodes on your tree. So yes, the helmet enchant does affect MI, however 40% inc dmg isnt a big deal, you´ll be fine without it. And no the flat fire dmg provided by Infernal Legion will not scale the dmg dealt whenever your minion does explode but it can trigger the explosion and if you want to trigger that reliably, you will have to find a method to do so. Infernal Legion is one such way, alternatively Dark Pact could do the same job and ofc the new gem "Guardians Blessing" should trigger MI as well just fine. You simply have to find a way thats not consuming too many sockets in your skellie setup and still works reliably as well as fast. Which means a shield like Maligaros Lens combined with the Necromantic Aegis keystone would reduce the skellies elemental res by -50% and thus they would hit the lowlife threshold needed using Infernal Legion to trigger MI way faster BUT comes at the expensive of some skillpoints and the shield slot. Pick your poison wisely :) Last edited by Orbaal#0435 on Aug 15, 2023, 1:05:40 PM
