I have also been getting these errors since building a new PC. I have tried all listed fixes including editing the power plan.

Fixed my problem by lowering the CPU Core Ratio from 58/55 to 52. Was a workaround for a different game, but with the same hardware combo that I have. Try it out folks, if it's a shader error like mine then this should work as well.

I fixed this problem for myself this morning in the following steps.

1. Uninstall POE through stream
2. Locate your Path of Exile folder in steam/steamapps/common and delete this folder as well.
3. Reboot PC
4. Reinstall through Steam

Explanation: So I did everything I could think of from changing launching options, Deleting config folder (From My Games/POE), Tried reinstalling the game only, and also tried verifying files.

Verifying files seems to be broken, As I've done it twice before actually fixing this problem and it said it was replacing files but I never saw a progress bar, or download of these files.

Deleting my config location seems to have fixed a lot of in game lag for me, Although it also deleted my settings completely and item filters so I had to redo those, but no big deal.

Reinstalling on steam only showed me what the actual problem was however. When I went to the steam/steamapps/common folder I saw Path of Exile was still there so I opened it and found the shader files. I tried to delete them and discovered that even after uninstalling POE this folder still contained somewhere around 250 thousand 'items' folders, files ETC.

Conclusion: It appears to be files in the shader folder that have become corrupted and unreplaceable due to there being no actual verify file integrity system working as intended. I hope this helps. It fixed my issue straight up.

Please be aware that doing the manual deletion of the Path of Exile folder with the shaders in it may take a long time depending on if using a SSD or HHD.

Was this able to be resolved? I have been having this happen to me had some maps close on me cause I couldn't reload the game in time :((

Had this bug crop up this morning - my first thought was "has there been a patch that added new MTX and i'm crashing in town because someone is using it. Restarted game client and still same crash. Step 2 reboot PC (just like the old text bug they fixed, sometimes the game has issues from old memory and my PC uptime was over 25 days). Rebooting PC fixed the issue.

I still have this issue, i am not a computer nerd, so i haven't done all the down clutch or whatever people are talking about, and i'm not comfortable with
it either. Yet, i have tried reinstalling the game, remove all files linked to poe both on launcher and the steam client. Nothing has resolved this issue, and i can't for the life of me, play the game, it crashes INSTANTLY everytime i open the game. I have run the forums guide, packtrack thing, repaired 10 times and still no resolve. I have run the dianostic of my pc, nothing wrong, connection issues, nothing there either. This is pissing me EXTREMELY off, since i can't play, and i'm already late for the league. This has persisted for the past 2 months, with the instant crashes only happening recently (within the last couple of weeks) and i'm actually considering quitting, if i can't get it resolved (which i kinda wouldn't like to do, since i spent alot of money on the game, and still love the game.)

Plus i can see there's no technical support through support tickets atm. So i guess i can't play for the next couple of weeks or maybe even the league all togehter.
