Profane proxy unset ring and mana usage

Don't know this for sure, but does the socketed curse gem in this ring still use mana?

It reserves the mana just like blasphemy except its tied to your skittberbot instead of yourself. It doesnt cost anything to apply to enemies once the reservation cost is paid.

And just in case it was unclear there is no additional reservation cost besides that of the skitterbots themselves.

no, it just turns one of the skitterbots' aura to a blasphemy aura, but you pay for it by turning skitterbots on. so the mana reservation is unaffected.
