GGG what are your plans for Poe 1 in the near future?

We will have to wait 18-24 months until Poe 2 will launch.
That's a long time and Betas aren't a full game.

After Exilecon many players are concerned or disappointed or even angry about the future of PoE 1.
So it would be a good move to tell us your plans for PoE 1.

I know that this plans could have a big impact on the players for the time until PoE 2 so do this carefully :-)
And I am sure you have thought about this already.

I feel like Exilecon raised more questions than it answered. Including this one. I'm just kinda flabbergasted by the whole thing tbh.

the time for these answers was during exilecon, they dodged them and thus that gives us the answer.

They will give us a damage control response eventually such as "rest assured, we are still dedicated to providing an amazing POE experience with tons of contents and updates" but i think the POE playerbase are smarter than your average gamer and are not going to fall for that BS.

POE 1 is going to be dead as dishwater one POE 2 launches. Do not expect any meaningful content or upgrades because it is no longer their baby.

Cross compatible mtx is BS, i highly doubt they are going to render the mtx in two different clients. It will 100% not be there at launch in any case. A new game takes alot of work, they've essentially started from scratch now to create their own game. July 2024 beta is a joke. No chance of a launch till 2026.

They still have 2 acts to do, multiple ascendancies, multiple classes, multiple additions of end game content, nearly all items are from POE (itemisation). Not to mention all the lesser details like maps etc. They've lied. Bookmark my post because 100% when it comes to July 2024 i'll be referencing this post.

If they said any later, everyone at exilecon would have felt scammed plain and simple and it would have been visible to everyone there, especially with a lackluster POE 1 league. GGG have it as business culture as acceptable to lie to the audience now, which is a shame. Their reputation is no longer built on honesty and transparency but deceit.

Very dissapointed in their recent approach to game development. They were my favourite developers but not any more.

I wonder how boss kill events or racing to 100 will be handled & received with two games with POE in it.

I would hope both will get a similar treatment but there will emerge a favourite over time, and the other game will be less popular. If it's either POE 1 or 2 we will see in 2 years i guess.

Maybe it was naive of me to expect them adding new atlas endgame but i am kinda disappointed anyway. It feels to me as if the "poe 2 as a new game" approach is really where the devs want to spend their energy on.

And meanwhile poe 1 feels like a business thats being kept running cause it brings in the cash. Maybe i am too negative about it, but i cant deny having that bitter aftertaste. Thats why i decided to not grab the latest sup pack.

Good comment - and probably true.
Though I don't like this "no" answer.
I still hope GGG gives PoE 1 more attention than the pure minimum.

While thinking PoE 2 Beta starts in 2023 I didn't expect big expansions.
Of course most developers are working on PoE 2 and this won't change.

About MTX:
I think GGG have to remake all MTX for PoE 2. MTX are too inportant for GGG.
Stashes should be no problem and they have a lot of time for grafics.
Without MTX takeover many supporters/players would stop buying things until PoE 2.

Not anymore, unless they put their money where their mouth is.
Not calling POE2 "2" would help.

Let there be only one Path of Exile, and call this point and click adventure "The secret of Wraeclast Island" or perhaps "Icewind Sarn" or "Tales of the Wrae-coast" or even "Orb of the Beholder II" or what about "Leisure Suit Atzi"

Plenty of good fitting names available...
