People who have nothing to do with PoE actively argue against PoE1

I've noticed now in a lot of media that some or even many people who actively speak out against PoE1 and portray it badly have no history with the game at all.

I have now spent the last 2 days (example reddit) looking at the histories of commentators... many of those who find the changes for PoE2 great have had ZERO interaction with Path of Exile up to this point.
Seen many D2 and D4 players who have been active on such forums for years or months before.

Pay attention when you discuss with such people. Most of them actively badmouth POE1 but don't know what they are talking about.

Why are people telling me that they played the game for a long time and bla bla?
Im talking about people without ANY knowledge.

Been playing for a decade. Have the supporter badges to prove it. Still think Path 2 is an unbelievably immense upgrade over Path 1. Not every PoE player is a Religion of Zoom turbosweat that cannot stand to clear content "slow" enough that the game has time to animate frames. Looking forward to a dynamic and visceral ACTION RPG experience.

11 year player here, can't wait to see what POE_II brings to the table.

Been playing the game for years, and I am very excited about all the changes coming to PoE2. It's a new game, with new features, and a new scope, and I am beyond hyped.

When I want to enjoy PoE1, it will be here waiting.

Could that be because you made a post with the obvious and blatant attempt to dismiss anyone who "badmouths" the current game in favor of the upcoming new one as a Janey-come-lately noob with no standing and no right to speak?

I wonder...

Happy to play both versions of PoE, or neither, they are just games folks, not lifestyles nor jobs.

Games should be fun and spark joy, if they do not find something in your life that does.

The world is ever changing, and so is this game franchise, embrace the change, or don’t and watch the world/game move on without you.

Don’t worry about the game, it will find replacement players who will appreciate it for what it is.

What I love about this development team is that they want to make a great game. That will attract great players.

PoE isn’t for everybody and that is awesome.

PoE2 won’t be for everyone either, and that is okay too.

This franchise is about agency and making choices.

So next summer make your choice of how best to spend your time, Exile.

Mine will be to log in to PoE2 beta and explore whatever it has to offer.

Eh, it's probably just Marketing doing its thing, all big games and even some smaller ones do this.

Exactly. Been playing a long time as well, supporting the hell out of this game (on two accounts no less.)

Speed creep stopped being as fun about 3-4 years ago. Now I just play for my challenges and peace out, and I don't really play solo I play in teams/groups so we've all followed suit.

PoE2 has us very interested, we're probably divided 70/30 between D2 and PoE lately. I hope to make that 0/100 with all in on PoE2. Hope GGG doesn't follow the speed creep path.

They got me a bit worried when they wanted to 'merge' PoE 2 into PoE 1 simply as a large expansion. That meant that the game I fell in love with could potentially become completely different in its essence.

So now I'm extremely happy that PoE 2 will be a separate game. Now it can be PoE 2, Diablo 4.5, Dark Souls, Ruthless - whatever it wants to be. I'm excited, but if it turns out bad, there will always be PoE 1 to come back to for me.
