Stutters/freezes/lag/ No floors/textures since 3.21.2 Graphics Patch
|
I've been having issues every since the new graphics patch.
I Changed 0 settings since patch updated and used lowest settings per usual. Sure, first map I expect to download shaders and have it a bit slow. I'm about ~30 coves in and every single map has: * Double the Load time at screen, not the biggest deal * Floor is missing if I move away from portal area before ~10 seconds * Some mobs textures don't load immediately * Some ground effects don't load (explosions/bearers) * When Influence mobs/other mobs spawn/Harby mobs come on screen I can either Freeze/Lag/Drop frames I tried DX11/DX12 but they had worse performance I tried a few combinations of the random stuff like Renderer/multithreading/double/tripple buffering on/off, etc. Nothing seems to do the fix. Every map has constant stutters/lag/freezes. Was doing absolutely fine before patch. CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz 16.0 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 No other applications in use.... Thought I'd bump this since others with 3060 are having issues. I turned dynamic culling on and it helps some. Still have stutters throughout the map.

In the video you posted with the performance graphs, all your freezes and stutters are from Latency. This means it's your network connection, not from graphics lag.
You can also tell it's network lag because whenever you do get freezes, the visual effects are still moving. If it were graphical lag, the visuals would be frozen too. You probably need to look into your internet connection instead. |

I have same issue.
Screenshot of missing floor after 10 seconds of being in the area is below: ![]() Screenshot of floor after re-entering map from hideout: ![]() My PC specs:
Spoiler
Motherboard: Asus p5g41t-m lx CPU: Intel Xeon 5450 3 GHz RAM: Klisre DDR3 4+4 Gb Videocard: GTX 750 ti 2Gb Windows running on HDD: ~190 Mb/sec sata interface Game installed on SSD: ~210 Mb/sec sata interface Windows 7 DirectX 11 Im also fighting healthbars instead of mondters regularily, though sometimes and some of them manage to load. After some time, when im half way through the map, i begin to see everything. I hardly believe that right when i downloaded the July update my network also changed from LAN cable to 3G usb whistle XD. Network is fine trully - other than loading times and textures loading, my gameplay is smoth enough for a 775 socket CPU. Thanks everyone for participating in this thread! " If you look again, almost every spike (except when near the boss).... is when a large pack either explodes or spawns. I have very fast internet and have not had issues all league. |

Just some further updates for the team in case it helps troubleshooting.
I realized that the two maps I run a lot(Coves and Tropical Island), both have water. My water graphics are set to low but I think there may have been some changes to water graphics recently? It's definitely worse in these two maps compared to Defiled Cathedral. Also, 100% of the time I enter a harvest, there is no floor. Have to wait about 5 seconds for floor to spawn. |

Same as above, now even fire (like in act 5 in the burning library) makes my game perfomences way worse than before. When i activate the dynamic option to keep up at 60fps, the resolution has to get down like a lot, which didn't even happen before during endgame content. What's gonna be like when i reach maps? Or should play POE in 30fps lol?
(just standing, with all graph at the lowest, imagine fighting :D ) ![]() Plus if i may, idk if putting a patch that 'might worsen' perfomences on not so good config such as mine is a good idea to begin with. Please put an option to choose if we want the former engine or whatever it is, and the new thing. Edit : In Dx11, the game is a 100% (one hundred) of my GPU, and so it also goes up to 70°C just by staying in town (which wasn't the case before). ![]() In Vulkan, GPU is at ease, but game has microfreeze which is really not feeling good. I have : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-Core Which i had no problem with before the patch Last edited by Wıght#1247 on Aug 3, 2023, 11:04:38 AM

Further feedback - Testing a few maps with/without Searing exarch influence seems to lighten the lag/stutters but they are still there. Shader bar seems to be non-stop maxed out.
It almost seems that once I start experiencing this lag I experience it until I restart my client. Sitting in hideout or moving in campaign/town has no issues with lag. Harvest still 100% is missing floors in every map no matter the other condition. Requires a few seconds to load it. |

Delete shadercache (not the folder with preload suffix) or run packcheck.exe if you use standalone client
