No they didn't, the old classes can still be played they just added new ones for all stat combinations.

instead of one class for each stat or 2-stat combo, you get two (6 classes becomes 12, not incluidng whatever is going on with center/scion) - they are entirely distinct from each other, but start in the same spot.
Like, the Shadow and Monk start upper right of tree, but have different quest rewards and different ascendancies. Old classes still exist, but they will be different because different tree, gems and entirely new ascendancies. So, yes, they still exist, but I mean, they will be rather new classes with the same old name, but the basic idea, of course. |
