Standard is dead

against all promises poe 2 will be a separate game. No items or characters will carry over and be able to play poe 2.
Big RIP to ~15-20% of the playerbase who enjoyed that mode.

If its gonna be the same quality as the last leagues of the past 2 years i dont see how its gonna be good. Splitting development resources like this

Essentially sacrificing poe 1 for poe 2, something that they said they won't do.

Thinking about it standard bros, they took our money and support with the promise to improve the game we liked to play, and just made another game with it

Why would they do this? Again Standard being treated like second-class citizens. I want to play my PoE 1 characters on PoE 2.

Yep and the new game looks horrible too, took out all the action in exchange for a ...... dodge roll.

Unpopular opinion: All the promises made about Standard over the years, were holding PoE back. Still, sucks for standard players I guess. Well, all good things come to an end. New things begin. I'm sure PoE 2 will have a standard league too.

How can you just destroy the game for all standard players? I have so much value in standard, and now all is trash and useless.

I am actually happy that i ended up being right with my prediction that the games will end up being separate. No updates from new leagues are a let down but no ongoing development also means no more currency swaps, no more nerfs every 3 leagues and no more hassle with the map tab every season.

We don't know yet if PoE 1 will be supported - or how long. Wouldn't this be the same as going from D3 to D4? Sure, you can still play D3, but most people are playing D4, right?

They literally said that PoE 1 and PoE 2 will have separate balance, mechanics and leagues.

Besides I don't believe Chris Wilson would let PoE 1 die so easily since he's the 'face' (can't think of a better term) of it while PoE 2 has other guys responsible for it.
