Shader computations tank perfomance after latest patch
|
Sadly, even after deleting the whole folder game keeps wiping it clean on every restart and populating it with the same folders again.[/quote]
True, every time I log back in the game I have to deal with around a minute of shader loading in every area. In safe areas its not the end of the world, it is bad, but where it truly matters the most is maps, especially when you need to load in mob effects, their skill effects and your effects as well + when they collide with the monsters. You loose so much FPS with lower and mid end PCS because of the cache loading that it makes you want to quit right there. For now this has to be fixed by the devs, other Band-Aid solutions don't seem to work and to be honest I really don't enjoy out of game fixes. |

I also am experiencing this exact issue, really hoping for a fix soon!

Still experiencing the same issue as well.
Have done essentially everything i could find including: updating drivers checking every single ingame setting disabling sound entirely in the config file deleting shaders manually increasing shader file size limit setting cpu core affinities and task manager priority performance did not change in any significant way although many others had success with some of these options. The game was completely playable before the patch, dipping down to 15fps in the most crazy content. Now it becomes a slideshow every time anything at all spawns in. Freezes can be as long as 2-3 seconds at a time and remind me of the time when strongboxes were first introduced. In addition to that some textures etc. just don't load at all. Floor textures are just missing sometimes as well as monsters or their skills. I have been killed by completely invisible monster packs in the past few days. Probably wont return for next league unless this is fixed. Running a i7-4790k and gtx980. Game is on a ssd-drive and using vulcan renderer most of the time |

Problem persists as of patch 3.21.2c, including long load times and wiping of shader cache on every restart.
I timed it: it takes me 42 seconds to load into highgate on a game restart 2nd try - 51 seconds, 3rd try - 54 seconds. Load times somehow get worse after every game restart. Last edited by Andrew756#7206 on Aug 16, 2023, 3:58:51 AM

I have the same issue. Loading screens are about 40 seconds long. On entering another area the shader bar on the performance metrics is also full for about 40 seconds. In this period I cant play the game without stutter or rare crashes.

And still no fix for that.

I have a similar setup and same problems. Im literally sitting in hideout with 20-40 fps doing nothing. Never been like that, no changes to the options changes anything, in maps so many FPS drops and just in general awful performance, its no fun to play like this, I keep trying every day and quit after 20 minutes because the game just feels awful and slow. I played to 97 last league and had almost no performance issues with the exact same hardware. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.
