Same issue.
- My iMac meets the spec requirements (although this doesn't appear to be hardware related anyway) - OS is up to date. Drivers are up to date. - Steam client downloads game. Validates game. Launches game. Latest patch shows. Attached image always displays. 'There has been a patch that you need to update to. Please restart Path of Exile.' In case people are still having this problem ...
The Mac had a recent security patch that does not allow programs (like PoE, or Steam) to write outside their libraries by default. I had this problem to until I went to: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access . From there, I granted Steam full disk access and restarted Steam. Once I did that, I no longer had "validating the update" on constant repeat on Steam. There may be other downsides to giving Steam full disk access, but it did seem to solve THIS problem. |
