Don't new GPUs use less power than the old ones? They are incredibly efficient now.

Upgraded GTX 1080 for RTX 4070, same power, 40% more performance. So sounds about right.
I know integrated GPUs made significant gains with Zen architecture on AMD side, not sure how did Intel Arc translate to their performance. (but knowing their drivers are a bit of a mess, it's hard to tell)

3.13 was the golden age.
Best solution, don't play games on a toaster.

A decent GPU and CPU along the other mandatory stuff don't cost much these days.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

There was a ini file workaround where you could set TextureQuality to >1, where at 4 it would look like runescape but i think thats gone now. I tested and it doesnt do anthyhing :/

Thanks for trying to help, would be nice tho, if the devs would implement something (like the hyper-low textures), so lower-performance GPUs could play the game. Would be also good, so Steam Deck users maybe would have a chance to play this game too.

even from an aes·thet·ic PoV, it would be nice to have an option of turning off 'SFX' completely, or at least to stop every 6+ essence triggering a rave event.

edit:spelling

I do agree, any performance optimisations (turning off 'SFX' completely), would be nice, and a good thing also for future development as well.

Since porting to other places(Platform and consoles) would be way more easier with less visual sacrifices on any of those.

As to my stance for it rightnow, the update to the Ancestor`s League made it "a little bit more playable", not by "much", but improvements are very welcome for the time being I suppose.

At some point, I maybe can suggest POE to other players which play on low end systems. (for a good playable experience min. 1280x720 and higher res. with all low settings at low performance systems with older IGPUs.)

Thanks again, maybe at one point POE will be optimised like those nice E-Sports Titles.

i know people with really good rigs that lag on this game, it's an optimization problem. you shouldn't need top tier specs to run a game like poe
i have a 1070, and i'm getting 40fps act 5, it used to be 100+ before the engine update, this is really bad ....
yea, it would be, I guess, good to make POE perform well on Low TDP Gear and low performance PCs, since I really like handheld gaming gear (Steamdeck) for their portability and buildin controls, while also allowing new players to join (low step for entry, if the game is made for those types of components).

And graphics are in my opinion only important if people want to play it because of it, or if it can be already run on low performance gear. :)

LoL? At literally all times, PoE doesn't use more than 2gbs of vram. In fact most of the time it's stationary at 1-1.5gbs vram. It's literally the reason some people with Nvidia 10XXs were being able to play without issue.

The real issue with PoE is CPU, always was, always will be.
Ruthless should be [Removed by Support].
The easier it is to run, the more players have the chance to play it, the same principle as the FTP model.
