I'm trying to figure out a way to make it work to save a PoE char but at the end of the day YOU the player still need to use it and that means that a bad connection or problems with your PC will still get you killed.

no you don't, you just need a single ahk script to have a logout macro, without any kind of particular hardware.

GGG have taken many years to make a functional trading website, because it was working without one for a long time ...

And the same goes for poedb, poewiki or other resources, they wont bother putting money into something that others are making available for free.

Chris has openly stated to having employed the use of logging out for whatever reasons, I'd feel a lot better if they just added some kind of portal-to-town-instantly option just so those who choose to for whatever reason to use a logout method to avoid death due to DC or whatever mechanics can do that.

it would be so much easier to swallow than "logout macro" and i don't see it affecting me in any perceivable negative way other than i might use the function on rare occasion when i bite off a lot more than i can chew on xyz build.

and i don't care one bit about this game and diablo stealing from eachother, if something is good and its not LITERAL theft i feel its almost obligatory given the nature of both games and their success to take inspiration from each other and grow just as this game came into being inspired by Diablo.

Im laughin at the 2nd post in that thread, Was right there askin for the same thing because what kind of hardcore game has a logout-meta o-o never sat right with me.

A more immersive gameplay-option would be better and possibly de-stigmatize the whole logout macro thing by just making it a part of the game.

I'm shocked GGG left it this way for so long especially once Chris came out on zizaran's stream saying he uses a logout method, That really hurt me to hear Chris say that.

cmon Chris! add some kind of official option!
