Option to skip story when making new characters
I have done this so many times and now after PoE2 hype downloaded game again, but just starting to do questline is like a wall I cannot step over after 800 hours already, please add option to skip questline and go straight to maps when making new characters after quest line has been done!
I would understand if questline would be different for each character then it would make sense to do it once on every class but as they all are the same there is no reason.. please .. I really want to play this again after a long break and disappointment of diablo4 but dont make me do all story again ![]() You can vote in a poll do you think this is a good idea https://strawpoll.com/polls/05ZdW3X7Eg6 #Poe_fix lf players to play with, do maps together and so on https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3148918 Last edited by smfc84#3946 on Jun 15, 2023, 12:17:14 PM Last bumped on Jul 28, 2023, 11:54:02 AM

I really doubt they would spend all this time making a new campaign only to let people skip it.

I mean I have done it multiple times, with all characters, I'm not saying to skip cut story for new players , but once you have done it there is no reason to endure it again

I agree. Doing the story once per league is fine as you need drops for a fresh start anyway, but you should be able to skip if you want.
This would serve a large percentage of players who go from a leaguestart build to something else later once they have enough currency. Yes, you can rush the storyline using uniques for leveling, but it isn't fun on the 20th time through. |

hehe star rail.
Jokes aside, I disagree. I like playing through the campaign. I think some parts can certainly receive some beautifying/modernizing, but most of the campaign I love. I also love playing through the campaign on D2. Every alt, instead of grushing, you bet me and the boys are just rolling through the campaign, ingame BGM on 100%. OP: I mean no disrespect but looking at your achievements, it seems you've never done any of the endgame and never even got far enough to get a voidstone. You yourself said you did the campaign multiple times and on all characters (though the achievements say you did not get the Ranger or Marauder past Dominus), so if I assume you went through a dozen times and you only have over 800 total hours (I imagine you're not one of those people blasting through the campaign in 4-6 hrs), that means you haven't done much of anything past the campaign.
With no experience in the endgame, if they actually did let you skip the campaign what the heck would you actually do? There is a pretty big difficulty spike between the end of the campaign and playing maps. The likelihood is they would just murder you over and over and you would quit for a different reason. |

yeah i have never gone in to end-game im pretty casual player and was always more interested in trying new characters , but i dont see any valid argument why pushing someone in to experience he does not want is a good thing? You enjoy every time doing quests , fine, do it, nobody is saying disable it for everyone that's stupid but there are people who do not like to redo quests again all the time. Diablo 4 was pretty boring experience after finishing story but again next character you make you can just skip whole story and level up doing dungeons and that is huge improvement comparing to talking to same quest npc and skipping every conversation cos you could not care less
what do you lose if im skipping story? How do i harm your experience when skipping my quests? Like you cannot swag so hard on forum saying - " well but i did story quests 50 times, look how hardcore i am"? It sounds like an army in russia - dude we suffered now we will make you suffer cos reasons #Poe_fix lf players to play with, do maps together and so on https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3148918 Last edited by smfc84#3946 on Jun 16, 2023, 12:24:27 AM

I don't think you understood my point. With how casual you are and how inexperienced you are, they could literally let you start after the campaign and you would not be able to make any progress whatsoever. Because they will just kill you repeatedly from the start.
I'm not against you being able to do this (though it will never happen in this game). I'm saying YOU will hate the game if it happened unless you enjoy doing nothing but dying. 800 hours is literally nothing in this game. I'm not sure why you think that's a lot. |

" Honestly this is all that really needs to be said. The story is just a bunch of maps, automatically queued up and chained end to end for you, so if you hate the campaign you clearly hate running maps too? You can basically recreate act 1 just by running Strand Map >> Shore Map >> Dried Lake Map >> Grotto map >> Atoll map >> Dungeon Map >> Plateau Map >> Coves Map >> Underground Sea Map. What is it you get out of ARPGs if the core gameplay loop of "move forward while killing things" isn't fun for you? |
