League mechanic RNG/drop rates

Hi GGG. I love that you've been taking time to review drop rates recently. The Sacred Blossom drop rate buff in particular alleviated one of my biggest frustrations.

In case you're looking for any feedback on Crucible drop rates, I thought I'd share that I went the entire league without finding a Crystalline Geode.
For comparison, I found maybe 4-5 reliquary keys.
I actually found more Sacred Orbs than Crystalline Geodes.

I hit 38/40 SSF with about 250 hours played. I had over 1000 maps completed. Probably charged Crucible Forge to 100% about 250-500 times, with maybe another 500 forges between 80-95% charge. 2 million /kills

For a large portion of the league, I prioritized quantity altars and completely ignored the downsides. My maps usually ended up with anywhere from 150-300% quant, and I saved the forge for after fully clearing. Towards the end of my challenges, I gave up on charging the Forge because I got the sense that it was a waste of time.

I understand drop rates are balanced around trade league, but I personally think the game would be more fun if you didn't need to trade to find a new league mechanic that may not even make it to the core game. I hope you will consider making new content more accessible in the future.

Thank you for reading.

classic GGG they have 300k + players in a growing game and .001% per league get to experience anything new. The vast bulk are just:

re-doing the same chores
re-six linking by re-farming thousands of fuses
re-seting up their atlas
re-setting up their syndicate
re-unveiling
re populating their crafting bench
re-delving back down to the same depths
re-fighting basic mavens basic exarch and basic eaters
re-earning splinters of countless variety

and

Re-getting bored

its a great game balanced for a couple thousand of its streamers and most no life. Balanced by trade league statistics instead of "what feels the best to play". With dumpsters full of loot that you should objectively not bother sifting through and instead always go shopping. And if GGG changes that... you get Ruthless mode with 35 people willing to play it.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
OP: It seems the Crystalline is a rare drop from the unique crucible mobs. I'm guessing they were but in case not, were you doing all T16 maps? I found 5 total (also SSF like you) and noticed none of them were from maps below T16.
+1 OP

i only had 1 Crystalline Geode drop. had 4 reliq keys and

those geodes shouldnt be as rare as those items i linked
not sure why they dont want players to fully experience the league mechanic

Yep. They were all T16. I mostly stuck with Jungle Valley for the better quantity altar spawn rate (no boss mods appear) with some Cemetery mixed in. I found 2x Brother's Gifts and 1x Brother's Stash.
You're fully invested now so-
take it to the extreme.
+1

2.1M kills, 6 reliquary keys, 1 sacred orb, 0 crystalline
I only run T16 and 100% channel crucible.
Wow sorry to hear that. Guess I got super lucky this league. I just realized one of the 5 crystallines I found was actually an item I picked up that had the node to vendor for one (I checked all the items in a normal geode that had monsters have x% chance to drop an item with a revealed tree).

I found no sacred orbs though.

I'm all for challenges that are hard to do (i.e. kill X boss while doing a headstand or something) but I hate challenges that are simply "did you get lucky and drop this thing" since trade league just buys it. In fact, I'm still missing my 40 because I didn't drop enough Kirac memories haha...

The problem is the standard shift that they do.
They should just treat temp leagues as a temp thing and erase everything at the end. In that way people could have higher drop rates and just enjoy the game a bit more.

Yeah, the Atlas Memory challenge was my last challenge as well.
I had 3-4 extra memories of each master except Alva took 300 more juiced Jungle Valley runs than the others.

Hey, at least they drop often enough. I'd usually find one every 50-100 maps.
