Dark side of POE. And suggestion how to fix monopoly/price fixing on mirror of kalandra

As many people already know there's a few players who sit on a ridiculous amount of mirrors, and keeping the prices high by artificially create scarcity.

I barely know anyone that haven't RMT:d this league. Truth is, POE has become borderline Pay2Win. A solution might be to make mirror of kalandra expire 11 days after being picked up. This would force use and circulation, what do you think?

Hard no. Punish everyone else for the very few that actually do this? No thanks.

There wouldn't be anything WORTH using a mirror on in 11 days. If I get a mirror during a league, you can be damn sure I'm gonna HOLD IT for some sick nasty legacy standard mirror gear. I'll craft everything else during the league myself, or buy the 2nd tier gear thats just as good for less than half the price.

As for holding onto mirrors to artificially inflate the value: in my honest opinion, I do NOT think this is the result of RMT. I do think it is the result of currency farms and bots overseas that are able to farm up insane amounts of currency within the first week and keep a running trade up to the mirror as soon as they hit the market. I think the amount of people straight up RMTing mirrors is rather small, like .1 or even .01% of the total players. Nowadays people can just rmt the item directly through 3rd parties.
Ya, that wont fix anything. GGG admitted themselves back in like 2017 that there is a MASSIVE gap between the bottom 90% of players and the top 10% wherein the bottom 90% never get past mid-tier maps. They also admit that this gap is the direct result of how bad the trading system is in general and that making easier trade would fix that ratio, but the top 10% blow through the game clear to ubers and a 40/40 in like a couple weeks every league and they want the game to be a miserable slog for the rest of us so they can keep purchase numbers for cosmetics up after the top 10% quit til the next league rolls around. So rather then fix their endgame and balance OP builds or put any real work into actual new content rather then a constant stream of half-baked new crafting mechanics each league they are content with leaving this gap in place so that most players never even see the normal versions of endgame bosses, let alone ubers. This, obviously, allows that top 10% to have control over everything on the high-end including access to mirrors. This gap would be fixed by an easy, interaction-free trade system but they wont do it because then they'd have to actually develop new content instead of just slapping a new skin and new numbers on existing content and calling it a day.
I don't see this as a collective punishment, in fact I think it's the opposite. As in days of expiration, 11 days is an arbitrary number I made up.

If you can artificially create scarcity you also create more inertia to acquire certain items since the time/effort becomes greater thus creating a need to RMT when expected game progression is not met.

RMT direct mirrors or RMTing the item directly through 3rd parties, is pretty much same thing, and a change like this affects both cases..? Please clarify if I didn't get the point.

Didn't know bots was prevalent, with advancement in AI I suppose we might need a biological identifier in the future.

The mechanical changes in the suggestion are designed to affect artificial price fixing and force consummation/creating more items. It's not going to make "the bottom 90%" into pro players, I don't see the relation in issues.

Discussing your point, I'm not sure if only implementing a different trading system would fix the ratio regardless, since there's games that has trading systems but still have a similar pro vs beginner ratio. It seems some people are investing more time than others and have different expected outcome.

You hardly know anyone not RMTing??? Maybe you need to find new friends/gamer buddies. Shun them for doing it. Let them know it is not ok.Report them. Block them I solved your problem. It can only spread when people start accepting it. There are no reasons to rmt to enjoy the game.

Limiting the times you can use a mirror on an item would fix some of the rmt issues easily.
Sure GGG can't do much about all rmt stuff but it would definitely help to cut off the infinite divine printer for the shady mirror rmt market.

It would be a good start for some positive changes for sure.

The only way to stop rmt close to entirely is by rebalancing the game around SSF and making everything character bound on pickup, which is hardly ever going happen. But even than people would use bots for their own advantage.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

hard no. if i ever found one, i would want to keep it as a souvenir not use it in 11 days
I think most casual and probably also non-casual players would not spend their first mirror but keep it in their stash forever... I certainly would.

So, that'll be a no.

so we fight scarcity by introducing more scarcity?

what kind of sorcery is that!?
