Snipers Mark gem Tag
" Yes. I made the same point about the stone golem. It's arguable which gems are consistent and which are not. Not arguable is that inconsistencies exist. Since a gem tag has massive influence on the balance of a skill, especially spells and others that scale with level, it would be wicked if GGG would not add or remove fitting tags for balancing reasons. Chaos Golem is compliant with a Physical tag, but returning to Stone Golem example, golems are tricky. They have a thematical tag matching thier "elements". So flame, ice, lightning, chaos golems have Fire, Cold, Lightning, Chaos tags respectively. Since there is no earth/rock element in PoE, it was replaced by the closest one – Physical.
Probably back in 2.X patches this approach kept Chaos Golem from getting a Physical tag, since those 5 tags represent "elements" for golems (leaving aside much more modern Carrion Golem). |
