I don't know where to post this so I guess here it goes-China server down for more than 24 hours now

I have been playing this game for close to 10 years. Since I've relocated to China for work, glad that you guys worked out a deal with Tencent for China server. I trusted that as ggg's shareholder, they will do a decent job with Path of Exile. But as of now, China server has been down for more than 24 hours (btw, I think all of the devs are aware of the fact that torchlight new season literally just came online in the past few days).

It started as an patch for the lastest 3.21.1. Somehow in the process, they confused standard stash with league stash, which created even bigger issue as you can imagine. The original patching and maintenance was schedule for 8-11, then extended to 15, then to 18 and then they just gave up, saying that server opening time is tba LOL. Players including myself waited for this whole process thus I guess you can imagine what it feels like when I woke up the next day and seeing the game is still down.

Tencent's current compensation plan is 1 box per day (around 3 usd each) for three days when players login. I don't care about the boxes.

I don't think it looks good for Path of Exile. The game that I played for years and watched it grow into the absolute beast of an ARPG. I am very sad. Tencent sucked for many many years to be honest. Their game is laggy and buggy for many years, it always felt like an very old version of poe from the past. They don't give mtx points when you buy core supporter packs (they turned it into box opening, which I immediately opened to the highest tier for the 2023 core supporter pack).

Chinese server was always full of botters and RMTers. Making the Emperor's shield is a joke on that server. I've always just played the game kinda by myself since my pride as a veteran of this game doesn't allow me to play with the botters and RMTers. But now I can't even log in.

What now?

D4 is coming, torch light just launched new season. What now?

99% of Chinese players can't even tell the difference between these three games since they just RMT and play it like MMOs. How are you gonna compete in this situation if your servers are down?

Dear ggg, what now?

After 24 hours, they updated that they've fixed 60% of the problem, although they will need to verify whether their solution fixed the issue after the fix. So I guess we will find out after 16 hours if this fixed. Awesome.
Hope they get it fixed, Sucks to lose all that progress you could make when you have time to spend.

And WOW on the stash mix up, that must've been interesting.

They have an in game trading function. You can list items in a trading stash and people can just buy it without having to message and physically trade it, which is not that bad personally speaking. What happened was, when trying to fix people posting tons of 0.5 alt trades (10% of these are used for advertising for mirror services, around 20% are used for grieving and the rest are used for botters to block out above mentioned trading page and advertise for their bulk sale or whatever. In short, used by RMT sellers, both mirror services and botters are essentially RMT sellers), in the process, for some reason, people selling items in the trading stash would get the payment in Standard lol. So selling a mageblood in Crucible essentially gives you around 160 Divines in Standard. I am guessing the reason why they can't just roll the trades back is they can't roll back RMT transactions that happened in that period. Their past decisions on essentially allowing RMT transactions made them heavily reliant on the RMT player base as at least 90% players on Tencent server are RMTers.

While it's extremely important to fix this issue, shutting down servers for 40 hours+ (conservative estimation) when competitor literally just launched two days ago, is still a very wild concept, at least for me.

Further delayed to end of today. I guess if you count in the sleep time, we are close to 48 hours server shut down. Good job. Tencent deleting player comments now on their wegame platform.

Thank you very much.

Yes, I especially found the description of trade interesting. What's the bottom line conclusion though? I am not a fan of RMT. It sounds like having autotrade encourages bots and RMT unless I didn't understand correctly?
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
Your karma always catches up with you in the end. Chinese management wanted P2W cash cow game, indirectly encouraged daily RMT, and now real world prevents them from fixing their bugs. And every hour of server being down costs them a lot of cash, lol.
Okay first of all, I play the Chinese server as well due to work purposes and I am going to stop right here and call you out on your flat out lies. How do I know this? Well you're not the only PoE player that has to play the Chinese server due to work reasons. I don't post much but just going to call you out on your bullshit.

First of all, the maintenance did not take 2 days, the additional maintenance took in total 36 hours and the team there was extremely communicative throughout and myself including the majority of players there were extremely supportive of the team there, if this was 1 year ago maybe not but ever since the publishing team was reshuffled we have gotten so many many useful QoL updates and they actually listen to player feedback, like almost to the same extent as GGG, so I don't know what your agenda here is, do you RMT? Are you wanting them to do no updates and do nothing about bots and let divine chaos ratio hit 1:900 like the garena server?

It started as an patch for the lastest 3.21.1. Somehow in the process, they confused standard stash with league stash, which created even bigger issue as you can imagine.

This is a lie, only the auction house completed offers were moved to standard (not listings or stashes). They closed the realm immediately to protect player data for a fix as they saw people taking stuff out in standard instead of leaving them alone.

Tencent's current compensation plan is 1 box per day (around 3 usd each) for three days when players login. I don't care about the boxes.

Whoppitidy doo, good for you.

Tencent sucked for many many years to be honest. Their game is laggy and buggy for many years, it always felt like an very old version of poe from the past.

Yeah the team from before maybe, but things have been going nothing but upwards this last year and a half ever since the publishing team reshuffle and they got a person from ggg added to their team.

They don't give mtx points when you buy core supporter packs (they turned it into box opening, which I immediately opened to the highest tier for the 2023 core supporter pack).

That is a lie, supporter packs gives the same amount of points there if you just purchase it outright, if you chose to gamble that is you.

Chinese server was always full of botters and RMTers.

Try saying that on global 1 on the tencent server in chinese, one thing they've really done is banning bots, look at the divine chaos ratio, it is better than international so cut the bull crap. In fact what I have heard is that one of the person on tencent's side and the ggg person bans bots 24hrs a day without pay outside of work hours, and I for one enjoy my currency holding value so that just outright pisses me off that people like you exist. So if the tencent team sees your post and considers just "lying flat" and letting it rot, then I hope my post dissuades them, and makes them continue the good work they are doing.

---

tl:dr cut your bullshit and give them where credit is due, yes I criticized their team before the reshuffle but screw you and your outright lies, and if everyone here doesn't believe the chinese server is actually decent, just look at the china community's support for the devs and team there with their equivalent of "take my energy" and appreciating all the qol and changes the team has pushed through lately:

Most of the post is outright lies or exaggerations, the situation there has been going clearly uphill since a year and a half ago. I play there after they open due to work purposes.
