Ice Spaer/Ball Lightning crucible node doesn't work completely, only partial

There is a cool crucible node that reads as follows:

When I actually test the interaction. Ball lightning doesn't return.

This is just a quick gif thrown together for now. I have a much higher quality video if it becomes necessary.

Edit: I originally didn't believe they circled, but someone helped me fix that.

EDIT: I can get it to bounce off of walls. I could have sworn it didn't before but now it does. This is all fixed at this point. Thanks

Switching did make them fire from multiple directions however, ball lightning still doesn't return. Thank you for the LMP vs Volley tidbit. Didn't even cross my mind on that one.

I have not tried increasing the duration or anything, however, I tried against the wall and that was to no avail. They do not come back like ice spear does. There may be a caveat in that the crucible tree has me spec'd into "skill gem supported by level 10 chain". I wonder if that somehow cancels it all.
