Why doesn't this game have an Auction House?

Everytime I want to buy something, it's a nightmare. 95%+ of the people won't even respond no matter what, so actually completing a trade takes way much time that it should need.

Having an Auction House solves this problem for all parties, you place your item on sale, and when someone buys it, boom, it's gone, you get your currency, everyone's happy and doesn't need to stop doing whatever they're doing.

Considering how incredibly practical this would be compared to what we have now, I wonder, why is it not implemented yet? With so many years of the game running there's gotta be a reasonable explanation why, and I want to know, because as it is now, it's just incredibly punishing on everybody's time.

Because there wasn't one in D2 and the devs didn't like the one in D3. I don't think there is much else to it.

Because Chris is very specific on how trade must be. He's a stubborn man and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

So you either suffer through that abomination we have now or go SSF. Either way, only pain and suffering awaits; for different reasons.

That doesn't seem like logical at all. It's like you say they loved tetris so that's why they're implementing a minitetris game everytime you wanna move something from or into the inventory. Sure, they'll love tetris more than anything, but that'd make our lives miserable.

Games evolve, and quality of life is a part of how games evolve, every game I've played, every single one, that lasted for quite a while, have been implementing QoL features along the way.

An AH would be the biggest improvement to this game in terms of time efficiency and sanity measures. I just can't grasp why on earth it isn't on the game yet.
It's not supposed to be logical. That's how things are. Chris believes that if you spend more time trading, that will somehow magically keep you playing longer.

Well, he's not exactly right, you'll spend more time on the game, just not playing. That's it, until you get really mad and uninstall because you can't make a trade after contacting 400 people.

The game already has enough content to keep you playing for ages. Refusing to implement an AH for the mentioned reasons seems both illogical and punishing, as a chair to the face.
That's not news to anyone. Everyone knows that. Except Chris for some reason. So you aren't going to get anyone here to disagree with you. But only one person's opinion on this matters and it isn't yours or mine.

That and he refuses to swallow his pride and make trading easier.
Wow, must have been a week since an AH post.
