Internet connection requirements

Sorry for offtop - but is it counted as death when youre getting disconnected? I wanted to start HC, but since my IP is dynamic and changes like 2 times a day, im not sure if i should?

Your IP doesn't matter, just your login.

Me and my wife play PoE at the same time on a crappy 1.5mbps connection, also at the same time my 2 kids are playing Minecraft online... and we get 80-100 ms.

Speed really doesn't matter if your going to compare pings, what actually depends is what route your ISP takes to send packets.

Me and my sister both have our own 3g modems (different ISPs) and i often use her's to play games, why? Because her ISP has the best route and i always get 100ms on Singaporean servers (nearest to me) only downside is its has a data cap (5 gb) and after the data cap is passed the speed is reduced to a staggering download speed of 15kb/s (no shit) but i still get the same ping on games like dota 2 and PoE and remain unaffected. (my ISP has the worst pings maybe but its the only one with large data packages, in case your wondering why i haven't switched ISPs)

But sometimes speed matters, if you play bandwidth heavy games (Ex: battlefield 4) with a mere 15kb/s you will find the game to be choppy and have movement lag while still having a 60ms, thats because 15kb/s isn't enough to transfer chucks of data to the server and back to the client.

Each hour bf4 uses 200-240mb, while PoE used 4-10mb each hour. So you can see.

Bottom line : For PoE your speed doesn't really matter or your choice how you access the internet. All that really matter is how far your from the server (More distance more servers your data has to bounce to) and the routing your ISP takes (excluding raining/cloudy days for wireless wifi which can cause lag, or peak times in which also can cause lag.)
