How to reset passive crucible experience to choose a different path

I've seen people say you can use a scour orb on crucible passives to reset the selected passive nodes but I can't figure out how to do it.

Im going nuts trying to figure this out too. I hate this league mechanic sooo much. Over complicated AF for no reason.

You need to open the crucible on the map, choose your weapon and scour passive

Thanks but are you sure that will only remove the XP and not the passive itself? It's so terribly worded. I keep reading the same instructions everywhere but nothing says for sure that it only resets the XP.
