Righteous fire is the most boring skill in the game

Yet, it is also the most popular skill in the game?

What does this say about the game or about the people who play it?

You know nothing Johny Snow.
There are two kinds of people, hunters and their prey.

Let me assure you, I am one of the hunters!

People want a smooth progression curve. You can say whatever you want about RF, but it does give you exactly that.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
boring to who ? you ? cool dont play it.

Flickerstrike is the most seizure inducing skill in the game some people love it it doesn't mean they are right or wrong.

Whats wrong in your life that the best thing you have to do with your time is criticize something you claim to not like just because other people do enjoy it?
Most people like to be Legolas in tight pants. It is just shared between Lightning Arrow and Tornado shot.

Tanky walking simualtor is a close second though...
RF is popular because pohx has a really in depth guide for it. if other builds had guides like that then they might be more popular
not every builds needs to have mass complexity to feel rewarding. i play this game because its not dark souls and i just want to sit back, chill and grind.

not play a build where i have to have a masters degree and the reflexes of a 15 year old Chinese league of legends pro.
I do agree with your core opinion (that RF is boring to me), but I love that RF exists. Yeah it's not for me, but plenty like it, and it's clearly viable, I'd love for MORE builds like this, an Int, Str and Dex skill version that sorta works in the same game space that more than Jugg and Templar can use to build into a similar play space (Minion builds for example, in which the player is mostly keeping safe / casting support stuff).

Just like each attribute spread should have a fun, twitchy build that can be successful, PoE's all about finding the character you like, and giving you the freedom to explore that space (and get yourself killed a ton in the process).
poe Is popular because of RF.

That not everyone shares your personal preferences? :)

I like RF; it’s different. I’d hate it if every build played the same way - and I’d find that even more insufferable if they all played like RF. That it scales and plays it’s own way is very compelling to me.
