Player Hub Noise Polution.
Hubs have become so loud and annoying these days.
I feel like it all started with Crusader Apparition. Appearing with a sudden thunder crash. Oh and that wolf everyone and their mom had, that just howls constantly. Now there's random lightning strikes, blasting of player ice statues and that god awful time keeper effect. I have to turn screen shake off now because I usually enjoy those crunchy crits but everything in hubs is doing it. I guess we're all playing with sound off these days? I'd talk about sound options but I know that's a waste of typing. Just make sure you include the ability to turn player effects off for PoE2. I'm a pretty level headed guy but this is triggering me hard. Not directly but because of the lack of foresight on GGG's side. i've hated player hubs since they added the first set of wings and all of the giant light up pets. really kills the immersion. i'd love to be able to turn off pets at least, i can deal with the bad fashion i guess.

yeah this is horrid design of course.
and the old argument of "they will never allow MTX disabling because they want ppl to see MTX and be covetous so they buy them" doesn't even apply because more ppl w/ sonic MTX only make the problem worse and lead to your individual MTX not being noticed. it's imperfect but all part of the grand ggg/tc/ccp plan. expect no change. or, no positive change. |

" Should run an experiment. Get a group of people with all this loud crap hanging out in hubs. See how quickly they empty out. Maybe see how much screen shake 4x time keepers gets. Ever better, each player rotates into town based on the time keeper CD so it's just constantly on. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" It would be interesting to see when combined how impactful they really are.. I remember a while ago there were people upset about character-size stacking players in town o-o nothing compared to now haha Time keeper effect from my pov meant it was only going to activate in zones where the immunity mechanic is actually in effect (maps/other content) not town. Could see how this would be a problem. It's a non-issue in HCSSF, at most you may see 1-3 players in act 1 then you rarely see others in town. You don't spend much time in the campaign towns either, beat acts, then your in hideout.
Why not sell an MTX to disable player MTX in town :D. Last edited by AmpegV4#2473 on Apr 15, 2023, 8:58:51 PM

Yeah this is the reason I hate all towns, and log out in Highgate, so I can rush to a waypoint and just live in the Hideout.
For me the worst is the horse neigh, it's such an ear rending noise and there's always one or two, so it plays every 3 seconds. |

" It would have been easier to code that way in most situations. Attaching to the status. Makes me wonder if the immortal status is being used in towns with a -1 duration. It super easy to code just PlayEffect on status apply. StopPlayEffect on status removed. I mean, they wouldn't attach it to portal zoning right? That would be nonsense =D "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" Because that, quite naturally, would iterate into next selling an MTX which disables the MTX that disables the player MTX. And then... yep. :D "Boah, is echt lächerlich, wie schnell das hier lädt, wenn nich irgendwelche Penner mit MTX hier rumhängen."
