Fire converted exsanguinate DoT does not benefit from fire DoT modifiers

I'm theory crafting a fire exsanguinate build in PoE right now and it's showing that the Burning Damage support increases Exsanguinate's DoT even though it doesn't specifically say it's burning damage. Curious if this is actually the case in-game or just a PoE bug.
