3 Reasons why Crucible League is a Failure
" Honestly it sounded like that was going to be the point of the Forge of the Titans maps from the trailer/announcement, then we get to the league and those maps are basically empty. I've never bothered counting, but there are maybe 100 total enemies in the entire map, compared to multiple thousand in a juiced T16? I think just adding actual monster density to the Forges would go a long way to fixing this problem. |

Random results on high time investment (endgame) quasi-crafting mini game.
No, thanks. Crucible should never be part of core, otherwise game will be balanced around one more nerve wrecking RNG crafting system. |

" But most players 'hate' things based on economics - this thread being case in point. Abyss was fun until it stopped dropping what OP wanted (exp and bases of a certain level). Now its not fun. Even though the combat is the same if not improved a little. |

" Sorry for the tangent, but this has been pretty disappointing for me. Have specced quite heavily into Abyss (top snake aside), because I remember it was fun when I last played several years ago. It's been nerfed like heck since then, tho, and I almost never get into the Depths now, and 4 pits is far from common either. Aside from the odd jewel here and there, the drops are underwhelming, to put it mildly. Darn shame. It used to be fun :( Well, the mechanic itself is largely the same, but when it's so rare to get into the Depths, they've taken away the biggest positive about it. Even Aul is easier to find than the Abyssal Depths. |

" Actually, I have been farming abysses in SSF, I must have killed 20+ liches by now .... (ripped one level 94 and one level 95 character I think, current character is more than half way through its 99th level) Still haven't seen the Shroud of the Lightless I have been trying to get. I might simply never see it and stop the character before that point, leaving it feeling kind of incomplete (it runs maps and normal bosses find mind you, but it's just not where I want it to be.) I haven't got a single 2 sockets abyss unique either (apart from darkness enthroned alright), or a unique jewel I mean, it could be simply bad luck, or it could be that it is a very rare drop and not really made to be farmed solo, but that would feel a bit like a d*** move from GGG if it is the former =/ " That however is simply not true ... at all. Specced into it, I would say that every ~10th abyss or so leads to an abyssal depth ? And maybe 3 out of 4 maps naturally have an abyss in them, if not more. There can be bad streaks without any abyssal depth though, I might have had 20~30 abysses in a row without one, but then yesterday I had 3 within 10 abysses so ... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jun 22, 2023, 4:01:04 AM

" The number of challenges only mean something if the person cares about them... and I don't. 'Challenges' set by other people (in this case GGG) I see as completely pointless... I set my own. The (now) 9 challenges I have are purely incidental. I've not even looked at them this league. And yes, 'multiple div' on average (before the league, and I, slowed down). That includes some crucible mods that sell at up to 8 divines (had one at 8 and one at 6). Quite a few sell at 1-2 div, and more at 150 or 100 chaos. Most that sell start selling at around 35C. I was running ~20 maps per day, more in the weekends. You just need to know which bases to use and have a feel for which mods can be priced above 1 div. " That hasn't been my experience, but probably haven't played as much Abyss as you have. Been through at least 50 maps with abyss in them since I specced into it, however, and only twice have I gotten to the Depths. One of them lead to a 99% Darkness Enthroned, so that was wonderful. It's just that it feels kinda poor compared to what it was like years ago. Hopefully I've just been very unlucky  I don't have enough points for the Abyss "snake" at the top of the Atlas tree, however, so if you have that too, that will surely make a big difference. |

" Nah they don't, players hate what they hate economics has nothing to do with it unless their only gauge for success is economics in which case they are usually already in their HO flipping not playing the game. The easiest example of this by far is crafting, most players hate it they just buy what they want - you can make currency crafting basically any item in any slot because demand is so high and supply is so low. Delve is another easy example, most players can't be arsed to interact with it in any way so you can delve and make extremely reliable currency just because you are willing to play content others won't, same for Heist. Abyss isn't similar its an in map event and the only "negative" element of it is backwards abysses or whether you can be bothered to clear depths. Basically it isn't undesirable enough to be a good currency generator. Sure it doesn't make enough for some players and that puts them off, but not enough to create a big differential and make it worth running for that reason alone. Edit: Really the undesirable part about Abyss is anyone who played the mechanic previously knows it was drastically nerfed, the rate of reward was cut too though so its less desirable and less rewarding both. If its not on the map crafting options next league though I can absolutely see it being a reliable "run shit content to sell to other players" strat but its just too accessible this time. " i m a hater. i'm only here exclusively to make a good weapon to bring back to STD. if we ignore that aspect entirely, i honestly dont find the content rewarding. loot drops? regular mapping is more profitable for time spent. crucible specific area /maps? its crazy punishing. i come from a "newbie friendly" POV. if i compare it to sanctum, sanctum is much more newbie friendly with tangible rewards. one can argue that the awesome weapon IS the reward. its worth tons of divines and probably will be the best "legacy weapons" in the game once crucible is removed. but if we're talking pure currency? its hard to feel rewarded.
