25% chance to open nearby chests whyn you cast a spell doesnt work with "totems"

When casting spell totem. (the action that spawns a totem, is a spell, and it has a spell tag) therefore, casting spell totems (or flame totems) should open nearby chests, which it does NOT.

You don't Cast totems, you Place totems. The totem then Casts the spell, but I don't know if the mastery is meant to apply to the totem's casts.

It's clear that you have to cast this skill.

Active totem gems do have spell tag though. Like Holy flame, Decoy, Shockwave, Rejuvenation, Searing bond, etc. If they also don't work with mastery, description is inaccurate.

You don't cast totems any more than you cast traps or cast mines. What part of the description is inaccurate?

Gem tags are basic information layer for figuring out which modifier affects what skill. In this case description of the mastery lacks standard issue line "doesn't work with totems, traps and mines".

As for "common sense", you don't pull magical totems out of your pocket, they do look like spells (with "spell" tag), cast like spells (with "cast time"), and quack like spells. So they are probably spells :)

You stretch it to the limit. For me, there is no reason to do anything with the description.
