Mirage Archer Support does not proc when linked to Vaal Ice Shot

Two setups.

Vaal Ice Shot + Mirage Archer + Added Cold Damage

Ice Shot + Ballista Totem + Added Cold Damage.

Was wondering why Mirage Archer was not proccing. Then I swapped my setup to this.

Ice Shot + Mirage Archer + Added Cold Damage

Vaal Ice Shot + Ballista Totem + Added Cold Damage

and Mirage Archer procs fine.

I realize that Mirage Archer says on the skill gem that it does not work with Vaal skils, but I assumed that meant when I actually used the Vaal skill.

Update: well now it works.

The only strange thing I can think of is at the time I was having the issue I DID NOT have enough accuracy to proc Precise Technique (my health was too high), however I did have 100% chance to hit.
