Crucible Logical Flaw "You cannot forge a crucible passive tree onto a unique item here"

So I am playing a build that uses two uniques, a weapon and shield.

At no point do I get to do Crucible mechanics. I have two sets of these items, one gemmed out for single target and one for AOE\mapping.

At no point can I use the crucible mechanic. And to get exp for uniques I have to get drops from the crucible mechanic that I can't use.

So I have to spend 15c buying the crucible map deal, to earn exp for the uniques, that may end up having a shit tree. If I was doing SSF, there be zero way to 'experience' the crucible mechanic.

So all I get is "You cannot forge a crucible passive tree onto a unique item here"

Zero mechanic. It's Standard League. At the very least let someone activate the Forge regardless so at least we get a chance to get the drop.

during leveling process, i tried awakening many different weapons to use.

ultimately i found out that just getting a good unique would still be more efficient than crafting your own "GG leveling weapon".

hindsight sigh.

then when we use uniques. we dont get to "awaken" them. the game becomes more of "when can i awaken" the uniques.

nowadays awakening items is simply to see if there's any currency on em.

How i understand it - they don't want you to forge even normal weapons. If you go back to lower level campaign area, to avoid those stupidly crazy overtuned monsters, the Crucible Mechanic is GONE! It's not spawning.
15 Levels below your level the entire League mechanic is cut off from access.

You can use the league mechanic with the left-most identified weapon/shield in your inventory.

So you're able to use it, just not on things you can see your build using.

Though you have the option of looking for a good tree on your weapon's base, and trying to chance it into the unique, instead of merely hoping your unique's tree turns out well.

Yeah Crucible is terrible as a league mechanic
but would be better as a standard feature

No, it's the first time i can't go back and do a league encounter. It reveals that they did those super hard crucible mobs intentionally extra hard, to limit the number of items made that way.
You can even see how desperate they are to do this, if you are plowing through campaign, but a random forged rare mob, is basically unkillable with consecrated ground or life regen aura - killing your decoy totem in a second.
To make my point there is virtually not a single streamer who does this content in maps.

GGG should give up their worries about inflating the game with powerful weapons. And make so that every weapon dropped has their Skill Three - revealed. And any forged mob has to drop those weapons already filled to some degree with EXP.

No, it's the first time i can't go back and do a league encounter...

Then you haven't played for a few leagues. It's been like this for some time now.

Moreover, as people told you, you can use the crucible on items in your inventory. Just pick up a dagger or 2x2 shield and use the crucible.
If you're lucky, you'll get a "sells for x at vendors", which is good in SSF.
Perhaps you also find a good tree that you can use with your current or a future character.

This way you can get what you need to forge a tree onto your unique items.

Lets rephrase this

"If you have a character, built without rare weapon or shield, you have nothing to do in this league"

Am I right? What's the point playing it? Leveling a trash-weapon from inventory/swap for what?

Just play the game a little bit more. Its only day 3
