Crucible in early acts made me realize how little I'll use it in mapping

And no, it's not because of the difficulty of the mobs. I expect that'll become a non-issue once I get my hands on a Blessed Rebirth jewel so they don't insta-kill my minions.

I feel like, once I reach mapping, I'm not going to see a whole lot of engagement with this league. After I get the passives made on my weapon and/or shield, then what? I'm effectively done with the league mechanic. The only way I can see this league being useful in the long term is if I buy random crap off of people and hope I get some good passives on it to be worth selling, but that just seems like a huge gamble that will likely end up being a waste of time and currency more often than not. It's like buying a whole bunch of unID Watcher's Eyes to try and get something good.

So what I'm deducing so far from this league is that this mechanic is designed almost entirely with gamble "crafting" in mind, which is already exclusive to the ultra wealthy. For everyone else, it might be a complimentary power boost for whatever weapon/shield you have, but that's assuming you're lucky that you get the passives you want.

You can say what you want about original Harvest and its impact on game and mUh EcOnOmY balance, but at least it was something everyone can do for however long they liked.

EDIT:
I'm in mapping. Haven't touched much in the way of crucible encounters unless I happen to find a 6s weapon drop prior.

wish it'd let you reroll the crucible tree if it doesn't have any points allocated.

Gear is hard to come by at league start, and when you find some decent weapon and it rolls a bad crucible tree - that's it. You're not gonna interact with the mechanic from that point until you find another usable weapon.

The mechanic itself seems very powerful with lots of potential, but they overlooked the early game and league start aspect of this crafting.
We will use it once they do the inevitable UI overhaul because somebody pointed out to them that its shockingly bad, if you ran in the circle and pressed 50% and ran out it really wouldn't intrude very much.

Of course all we'd get is garbage but that parts a given, players scourged items all league for some reason *shrugs*
I skipped announcement and all marketing mumbo jumbo.

Interacting with the mechanic is most painful since door waiting in Heist.
There are little to no monsters to kill, balance is horrible as charging raises exponentially monster stats. Adding item tree seems to be completely random, I guess there might be some relation to ilvl but I am kinda sick of swapping offhand weapons every now and then.

I never charge the crucible to full, and that seems to be the gateway towards more content.

It seems that crucible has no depth and it just just basically hamster wheel with bad interaction system. And with the state of crafting, unless I will go for something with deterministic weapon crafting, this is just absolute waste of time. Well done GGG, I could not imagine the timegate this bad :D

I much prefer Sanctum over this, but then again, I thought that league was enjoyable and should've been added to core. I mean, how often do we get leagues where you aren't punished for being too slow?

But yeah, Crucible feels incredibly shallow. Stick items into forge, channel a bit, kill stuff, repeat. The stuff you kill don't even drop anything for the effort it takes to beat them either. Hell, they're not even worthy of being raised as spectres since they don't even use those OP abilities they used on you. That could've made spectre builds at least worth consideration again after being hammered so many times with nerfs.

Yea, I mean, do they think you're going to be finding items similar to the ones you have equipped to constantly be rolling the tree?

It feels like I'm going to get a tree on my weapon and go "well that's that I guess" it's not like finding loot is good.
This expansion has little appeal. Once I find an item i like I upgrade it and then dont even bother running the mechanic until another upgrade comes along. How can there be an entire expansion on just upgrading a single weapon and or off hand? Am I missing someting about this leage?
So according to reddit, Crucible mobs aren't dropping any loot except geodes and that's affecting rebalanced drop tables. It would explain why I'm struggling to get any alchs. Seriously, getting map completion feels worse than usual right now because of it.

League mechanic is fine, once you get to where youre beginner/starter endgame its a free way to min max your character that costs you NOTHING.

This has became a perpetual issue with people and league mechanics since sentinel, where if a league mechanic doesnt just crap currency out people whine. I hope ggg doesnt take this kind of feedback seriously.

If you dont have small currency run heist or blighted maps. I'm never low on anything.
Also, a LOT of people are building garbage glass cannon archers this league who apparently can't do the league mechanic at all. I'm averaging an extra 10-15c per map just throwing a thicket bow into the crucible, maxing it out, and selling it as a crafting base. Minion wands are also a good choice.

The crucible mechanic is absolutely a money printer if you're in a trade league and know what you're doing.
