so because there is different scaling that means melee is fine? its always been known that mage characters scale more with levels and gems than melee

now take a level 81 melee character (besides boneshatter) gear it to the max and still get deleted by mobs with ease.


What? I am saying that even with a nerf to caster weapons I can easily get to the 80s and beyond. All these casters that say, "melee is fine, they can almost one shot bosses" are being dishonest as can be.

To get a weapon capable of one shotting a boss would take a huge amount of currency or time invested to craft that weapon. Last league I used the PoEDB emulator to craft and endgame grade axe about 800 dps, it was over 1200c and still has the chance of being bricked, if you got lucky and it don't brick you can get a 5 mod axe for about 1200c and 2 divines. To do this you would have needed though a early map axe, a mid grade axe, all before hand. So at least a few divine more on top. And if you want to buy one from the Trade it would cost you 10+ divine for a single weapon.

Void forge cost 10 Divine and is not even a Boneshatter weapon. There are no decent unique weapons for red maps for melee. While range and casters can pick out 15-20 for cheap 10-50c. Obliteration costed nearly 1c for most of Sanctum and was one of the most used end game weapons for casters
