how about we also want to play the game and have fun with new stuff ? are you disconnected from the melee archetype or are you just out of ideas ?

"RAGEVORTEX bladestorm HINDERS ENEMIES" infernal blow tectonic slam "% damaeg per armour so just for armour stackers ?" frostblades lightning strike ALL DAMAGE IGNITE? who the heck will ignite with a skill that hasa no base damage glacial hammer covers in frost after enemies unfreeze ? so after they die ? cuz i am pretty sure we play it to perma freeze enemies it's like what's going on lol we see cool casters shit and get hyped to see our melee shit then almost every single melee shit is actually useless with no value, niche or straight up does not work how about even if we are becoming a minority we still want to play the game ? edit: no one is talking about buffs here, this is a thread about how we are not getting any new play-style altering shit so that we can enjoy our game the same way everyone else is. play-style altering means, ball lightning now can be played in a new way and that's fun to try for someone who likes the skill another example, additional projectiles in the passive tree means BOWS are strongly unlocked to every ascendancy in the game all of a sudden which is gonna be a LOT of things to try and enjoy if you like bow builds. those things happen every league for everything except melee. and it's getting kinda tilting to play the exact same thing every league. in fact and if anything, many if not most melee strike skills are still suffering from nerfs which LIMITED the play style eve more rather than adding new interesting things to do. Indeed, GGG doesn't understand what Melee mean
It's either incompetence or they save the real reworks/improvements for PoE 2, wich is what i would personally do There is no reason to change melee in PoE 1, it's always been trash archetype Hopefully that means we'll get VERY GOOD melee combat in PoE 2, hopefully.. |

" Many unique enemies have a cooldown until they can be frozen again after they unfreeze, making it an obvious damage bonus. Nobody said crucible skills would be straight up damage buffs or whatever, and that is not the case for many non-melee skills, they're just enabling a different way to use the skill. Maybe touch grass before posting poorly thought-out rants? |

" the fact that you think a target should last enough until the freeze is over only means you have no idea what you are talking about. we are trying to kill enemies not spend 10 hours per screen also "many unique enemies have a cooldown until they can be frozen" how about "to name a few" ? do you even understand the reason heat-shiver for example got popular ? well, if you claim you do then you would understand that those enemies you are talking about are not uber bosses to say the least. either way, i never said it will never have an application. i said every single new melee notable does not change anything or do anything. do you get the problem ? the problem is about playing the exact same skills again and again with nothing new whatsoever to enjoy as a melee. while you have this cool new stuff to play with like the ball lightning, or ice shot ignite, and all that cool stuff. no one is talking about buffs here, i am talking about how 3.20 or 3.19 or whatever almost every single league is the exact same thing for melee skills. nothing REALLY new at all in any way possible for ppl to enjoy. |

Melee game-play mostly skill issue which %95 players are lack of it -including myself-. I think only thing melee needs to get rid of totem dependency. Rest is fine and fun.

I see this melee bitching in just about every Action RPG i play.
Really, this started over twenty years ago with Diablo II. Where melee WAS gimped actually - as it was reliant on attack rating, and that was heavily reliant on level difference between monster and the player. Which was ALWAYS in the favor of monsters - I was finishing Hell mode at level 70-ish where monsters are 83-85 and bosses are close to 99. Also, melee in D2 had no area effect attack whatsoever. I had to clobber each mob one at a time. Yes, this was really bad experience. But POE is nothing like this. Melee is doing just about as good as any other build, as POE has rather narrow field of view and monster bumrush speed is insane. If you are a mapper your average map monster lives about 0,03 seconds, boss might last half a second. How can you complain then? |

Knockfront? I would picture a character growing 5-meter arms and hands, slapping the monster from behind toward his/her body. Or... just make Cyclone function like a black hole, sucking enemies in. |
