Does the new Master Distiller node in Pathfinder work with totems/balistas?

As it, will it consume 3 charges and then the totems will receive the skill buffs for their full duration? I had an idea for a league starter but I don't want to ascend just to find out it doesn't work.

I believe it consumes the charges each time you summon a totem but not each time the totem does something due to the wording.
Have seen no evidence suggesting that it does work for totems or traps. Does anything else in the game (other than concotions which cant be totemized/trapped) work like that?
And they didnt seem to put much competent effort into the 'redesign' either - see equivalent Notable names that do something completely different than before - like 'Nature's Boon' doing something quite specific that doesnt have to do much with nature - is that a good name for that notable? - I dont think so. So from my limited POV its quite possible that it will consume charges upon totem summon but not work for the totem.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
I don't think it's that hard to parse here. The ascendancy works whenever you use a non-channeling skill, which summoning a totem will count as. When you do, you get the corresponding buffs and since your totems count as you, they will in turn get the same buffs. But when THEY fire, that is not YOU using a SKILL, so there should be no further charge consumption there.

That part is also how I read it.

The wording says "grants bonuses to skills you use". As I read it this means it doesnt work for triggered skills or skills used by totems etc.

But assuming that it does work like you say: The problem I have with that (and other potential explanations that I am aware of) is that its mechanically unique and improperly described in the Ascendancy. It doesnt say it gives a buff. Nor how long it will last. And it leads to weird questionable unintuitive behavior.
So for example I have no charges and summon some totems. Then I get charges and use a movement skill which consumes charges. Then my totems suddenly "get"/use the buff. Then I use movementskill again and dont have charges - this will turn off the buff. From my POV: If it really works like that its misdesigned. And if the buff isnt turned off then there should be a buff length description in the Ascendancy - but there isnt. And if the buff has a duration then why does it consume charges all the time with the buff being on. Etc.

From my POV this Notable doesnt make proper sense.

Agreed on that. I think they intended it for attacks/spells so one drink = buff one spell/attack. I would guess if you could drink for the totem cast, it would apply to that totem (which would mean it last for the duration of the totem) but that does seem really strong.
