Chaos dot spells (like essense drain, bane, etc.) needs a compensation buff

The big nerfs to chaos mastery was clearly targeting poison seismic/spark builds, to reduce their power. And at the same time all of the chaos dot spells (essence drain, contagion, blight, bane, soulrend, etc.) got massively nerfed as well. It's not "fine" to rip off ~20-40% of dps (19%dot and wither effect) from already underperforming group of spells (40% if you also drop malevolence+watcher eye to keep determination or grace as a defensive aura, since we lost reservation efficiency as well).

This nerf is very underserved. There wasn't a single case were chaos dot spells would be problematic, gamebreaking or meta. They were below middle of the pack, usually sitting at 2-8 million dps, reaching 15million dot cap and proper tankiness (100-130k ehp) required extremely expensive items.

Now you put very luxurious items (like +2/+2 shavs, double dot +2 wand, +2 amulet etc. and can barelly reach 5million dps on a soulrend. Assuming you are creating a proper character with defenses, not a glass cannon). These 3 items usually will cost you 60-70divines. For that amount you can make a build with meta skill which will do 30million dps. How is this fair?

While someone could argue that we are getting weapon trees - it's true for the league, but standard doesn't get them (unless you farm one in HC and then kill yourself). And other builds can enjoy weapon skills without just getting executed in the middle of the Oriath.

We are not asking for a positive buff, just do a compensation buff for these chaos dot spells.

New chaos masteries just doesn't do enough:
5% to get 15 withered stacks is useless. As an occultist with tripple wither totem support you get to 15 stacks very quickly.

1% recovery from killing mobs /wither stack doesn't bring any value. We already have passives on medium clusters which gives 1% recoveries/cluster for an Occultist (you usually aim for 3 of them, to get 3%/kill). As a trickster - you already have ascendancy point which gives much more (I am speaking from the perspective of chaos dot spells, this mastery is ok for pathfinder).

Agree. I like chaos dot spells. They're cool for acting and mapping, but really trash dps for endgame. So after despair huge nerf and now this, I will never play them again :)
Yes, ED/C has been dead and burried,appartely killed again.

Solutions to fix it:

- Make AoE on Contaigion scale with gem level
- Incease base damage of ED
- Increase base damage of Blight

Would instantly make the skills playable again.

Typical GGG - instead of targeting the main issue (Temporal Chains) they do a random broadside with more collateral damage.

also the "rework" of arcan surge is another 11- 19% less dmg for cold and chaos dot now.... why even bother to play them anymore
So today I imported my old build from Kalandra, which had 8.9million Soulrend pinnacle boss dps (with a lot of quite expensive items), after uploading the build to the new tree - my dps now is 7.0mio (21% reduction).

Feels good to be nerfed on an underperforming skill :) Thank you!
